Very good, now I know where you are coming from. I.e. I don't care what constraints we as a country are under, I am unwilling to work with our leaders to find solutions, difficult though they may be, I close my ears and refuse to listen to hard facts. The only thing that matters is that the politicians make me happy, or I vote against them. Right?

No point discussing anything then, is there?
No, lah 3Boys. Don't be like that lah. It's:

I don't care what constraints we as a country are under, I am unwilling to work with our leaders to find solutions so long as their salaries are higher than mine.

No. We rely on them to find solutions. And if they couldn't, we'll have to find someone else who could.

Isn't that what election is for?
Feel free to find someone else. When you or anyone else actually does, I may even vote for him.

Yes elections is how we choose those we think can lead us.

But is there is who is capable of doing it beter in the current options we have? In all honesty there isn't , IMHO.

And the fact govt seems to be going all out to gather people's opinion and genuineness needs and balance it with the realities of Singapore and the global environment . Constructive feedback is a great mechanism, but dissing is not.

So what's the purpose of our discussion here?

Are we not, in a way, work with them--by telling them the problem with their decision?

The sad thing is that you don't even see the fallacy of your statement. The point of electing leaders is so that they can LEAD, I.e., put forth things that are necessary, but perhaps unpopular. What's the point of electing leaders that only do things that WE WANT them to do? That's not leadership.

If your kid says I want to eat ice cream and play Nintendo everyday, would you agree? What if your kid then says they want to change parents because you do not bend to their will?

They HAVE solutions, you just don't want to accept it.

And this current govt has not been finding solutions? And when we find someone else and that someone also cannot find a solution, we change again and so forth. Wonder what will become of our country then.

Sometimes, in giving a solution to one issue, it may cause other problems to arise. I do not believe there is such a thing as a perfect solution, only the best possible fit.
