Hi Coolit, you're welcome. :celebrate:
Thank you very much for your explanation! :celebrate:Brenda10:
Hi Coolit
This set of multi-video lesson comes with:
Act it Out
Use a Picture/Diagram/Model
Make a Systematic List
Look For a Pattern
Work Backwards
Use Guess and Check
There are examples associated with the above methods as well as questions for practicing.
We seldom use it perhaps due to DD maths during P1 - P3 have no much problem.
Basically, I think the explanation and the illustration are good. More important is that you must have the patient and discipline when adapt to this type of method.
Hope the above useful to you. -

I think it can be adam or dave since they did not mention if adam was directly in front of betty. however, in an exam sitiuation, i would make the assumption that adam is directly in front of betty and would go for dave

This question was discussed in KSP before!
Four people, Adam, Betty, Calvin and Dave are in a race
We have A, B, C & D.
Calvin is between Adam and Dave.
It can be:
A C D
or
D C A
Adam is a few paces ahead of Betty.
Based on 'a few paces ahead of Betty', we can assume that he is very close to Betty.
A B
There is no one behind Betty.
Since there is no one behind Betty, it would be
D C A B
1st
Who is leading in the race?
(1) Adam
(2) Betty
(3) Calvin
(4) Dave is leading in the race. -

Hi coolit,
Thank you! I actually realized that I have that book sitting on my shelf for the longest time, blew the dust off it when I read your post. It is actually quite goodTinkerbelle:
Hi,
My DD and I find Fan-Math i-Excel (Heuristic and Model Approach) useful. It's a series of books for P1-P6. It covers some common heuristic (non-routine) questions and models. The P1 book even provides stickers for beginners to better visualise the models.
Fan-Math also has a set of assessment book cum CD-Rom (Model as a tool) for P2 aqnd P3. It's an interactive lesson that kids and adults would enjoy. Maybe you can go to their website and try their demo. Cost is $88 (promo price) for 12 month subsription. Works out to be about $7.33 per month... However, it's coming to year end so I don't know if they can pro-rate.
The website is http://www.fan-learning.com.sg
Great to hear that you find it useful. Good luck. In no time, you'll be a models guru... -
Thanks all....as what mrswong has mentioned and pointed out by MOE hater, it can be tricky. But looks like none of you got tricked leh!!!! Wah!! I am impressed! I was tricked but not my dd.... *generation gap*
