WOW!! :congrats:
awesomenesssss!!! Report card found!!!! NYPS here I come - woo hoo!cmm:
As long as you've studied in the school before, you qualify for Phase 2A. Doesn't matter whether you graduated from there or not. As you are not alumni, you can register your child under Phase 2A2, registeration date is July 13th for this phase.
KEEP DIGGING for that report book!!!

Hi Little_Princess, for PEPS, I think the chance for Phase 2C balloting for <1km is very high, as shown in the past 3 years.. since you are between 1-2km, the chance is very high that they might turn you away and ask you to try somewhere else..meaning you will not even get a chance to ballot...
I would suggest you decide on an alternative school and monitor your chances there instead...
Also note that, this year they have 240 intake instead of 270 intake last year and at Phase 2A already 40% takeup rate... -

Hi, was wondering if anyone may wanna give their advice or opinions about my dilemma…
DD1 will enter pri 1 in 2012. 4 schools (as verified by LTA) within 1-2km are:
MGS
Pei Hwa
Keming
Bukit timah
MGS does not accept PV so will go by faith and prayers and still try for 1st choice. Now am thinking of 2nd choice school (since may need to do PV if it is a popular school). Heard/read good stuff about St Anthony’s (which is not that far from me as I am in Upper Bkt Timah) as well as Keming. Considering CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace. Am not so keen on Pei Hwa… Which school do you think I should try to focus on for my 2nd choice? Would appreciate advice given. Much Thanks. -

i am assuming that when you said 'will go by faith and prayers', you are going for Phase 2B registration. So when you mean pv-ing in a second choice school, are you meaning that you the second choice school is a back up in case you fail in MGS or the second choice school is an alternative so that you can decide which to go for when its time for your Phase 2B registration? :?

you should probably go read up on Bukit Batok's http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/bukit-batok to better understand your chances of success. if you had read the stats, you would have notice that if you had failed in Phase 2B under MGS' application and are considering the schools in your above list as a back up in Phase 2C, as you are >1km from Keming and St Anthony, you will not stand a chance in Phase 2C registration at both school. Pei Hwa has balloting for those staying 1-2km in 2008 but for in 2007, they ballot for those staying <1km - so your chance is not 100%.
That'll leave you with only Bukit Timah with sure vacancies (based on past 2 yrs stats) in Phase 2C; however if you are trying to keep Bukit Timah as a backup in Phase 2C supp, you need to know that that may be the only sch left in Bukit TImah area with vacancies left in Phase 2C supp (based on past stats) and so can expect higher demand at that phase.
2012 is still quite some years, so you still have these few years to monitor the trend of the stats.

I am not sure about that. Bt Timah Pri has dropped its intake significantly (from 300+ to only 180 this year) due to the switch to single session school. By phase 2C supp, there could be no more places too.however if you are trying to keep Bukit Timah as a backup in Phase 2C supp, you need to know that that may be the only sch left in Bukit TImah area with vacancies left in Phase 2C supp (based on past stats) and so can expect higher demand at that phase.
