Hi mame, based on last 3 yrs stats, ATS only conduct balloting under phase 2B for those staying out of 1km. Hence if u get the SHHK letter and stay within 1km, u should be quite safe. U can register in SJJ under 2A2 first, then withdraw and register in ATS if no balloting under 2B is required. -

Hi luanee, thanks so much for your advise. do you have any idea when SHHK will issue letter, i heard from some that SHHK issue letter only during phase 2b and not earlier. any how, the safest is as your suggestion.mame:

From various posts scattered throughout the forum, I gathered that you will have to fill in a SHHK form to inform them which school you wish to enrol your child in. Before the start of phase 2B, SHHK will have an internal meeting to decide who they would recommend. Then SHHK will inform the schools of their recommendations.
You can read and post in this thread regarding SHHK: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=243&start=345 -

Hi Petegrin,
you can take a look at these maps. hope it helps.dada:
Hi mumto3boys
May I know where are you staying. I am looking around for a place that is within 1km to Aitong and CH but so far the places that I have seen are only within 1km to one of the school only.
Thanks

Thanks for a great link.
To all parents in Bishan,
My boy is due P1 registeration next year. Like many folks in Bishan, I stay <1km with CH. Submitted my PV application but never hear any reply. Think we just want to give up on CH.
Read on this thread and found out Kuo Chuan is a good school. We live very near to Kuo Chuan. Looking at the link above, my flat just pass the <1km mark (sigh). The block next to mine is within 1km :stupid: Anyone know how many 1km<>2km this year at Kuo Chuan fighting for the seat at phase 2C? What is the probability in the balloting for 1km<>2km? We missed out the PV for Kuo Chuan so unless move house, we still need to ballot. -

If you are still interested to be a PV in Kuo Chuan, I believe you may still have the chance to be one. Have you called the school to check? They have a Childrens' Day event coming up on 30 Sept, and you should have time to participate in that to clock in the PV hours.
This year, there were 148 registrants for 122 places. I called on first day to check, there were about 70 plus registrant within 1km, but I don't have the final figure on the last day of registration. You may want to call the school to check. Last year, I remember the balloting ratio is about 3:1. -
Hi Tulip,
Thanks for the information.
I just called up the school. They confirmed my flat is 1km<>2km
. And for this year phase 2C, there are 46 applicants to fight for 21 seats. Less than 50%. Hubby and I never have any luck in lucky draw so we dont' have confident we will get in.
I did not ask about PV though. Thanks for the tip. Will call them right away to ask about it. Looks like this is the only chance besides from moving house to a few more blocks nearer

Same here, no luck with luck draw, thus went the PV route last year (as I am also 1-2 km from KC). Its very easy to become PV in KC, there are no selection process at all :D. Please note that they do not have much \"work\" for PVs, so get your hubby to chip in as well and try to volunteer in whatever work that comes your way.
All the best... -

Thanks Tulip. CAlled KC up right after reading your mail. They told me that application for PV already closed. They quoted MOE's guideline that PV must start on 1st JulyHi Rejoice137,

. Our fault. We have been thinking of CH and AT and never thought of applying PV for KC as a backup. Now they all back fire. Now thinking should we just leave it up to God or move house to be <1km of KC to at least secure a place at a good school. Other option like Townsvile or Teck Gee does not sound attractive enough.... so sad and regret...
