What happens if we do not get into 2C of CHS? Do we go and appeal to school of our next choice or await for MOE to assign. SJIJ is just too far and if I am not wrong, P1 is in the afternoon session. Poor boy will be so tired by the time he gets home via school bus. :?:

I must thank you for all the updates the last 2 days over CHS registration. I join all the Bishan mummies in dealing with stress! Today is a critical day for me to decide if to put my boy in SJIJ under 2A2 as my hubby is an old boy or just forgo and wait for 2C for CHS. I am vexed as I wanted to go by faith under 2C but looking at the available vacancies, I am waivering in faith! Shucks!

If I were you, take SJIJ first. At least your hubby is old boy, lucky you. At Phase 2C, you can watch the ballot ratio for CHS before deciding whether to withdraw him from SJIJ and take part in the crazy CHS ballot. At least you would have secured a place at SJIJ which in my opinion is a good school.

Hello Gingerbread!

Today's a crucial day for you...why don't you register your boy for SJIJ & secure him a 'seat' under a Catholic school first? So you can 'buy' time for next few days and decide again if you want to try for CHS under 2C? YOu can withdraw your application from SJIJ next week should you opt to try for CHS next Thursday.

Say theres only 12 vacancies left in P2B and 2C

Not many parents are willing to risk going to ballot considering theres only 12 vacancies left. They might have better chances at other schools.

SO…that leaves a small group of parents will to take the risk. Therefore higher chance of getting in.

If you lose the ballot at CHS, you go to Phase 2C Supplementary to get a place at a school with Phase 2C Supp places...and there are not many ok schools with such places near Bishan/AMK/Hougang/Serangoon/Toa Payoh. The ones with places, I think you won't want...

So just take SJIJ today! Quick! You can still move house later.

Thanks, Cherrygal. My sentiments the same but I am also a stubborn Christian! I bought an apt at The Clover by the Park by chance and didn’t know I could actually apply with my Sales & Purchase Agreement. Found out only last yr that i could do so. As such, I kinda believe that God gave me an opportunity to send my boy to CHS. So if I choose to go by faith, I will risk out for phase 2C. Tssk… if I go SJIJ, I feel that I am not believing HIM! Arghh!!!

Aiyoh... you just buy \"insurance\" by securing the SJIJ place first today. Then you can still believe in HIM at Phase 2C if ratio is low. Don't take the risk...He helps those who help themselves!

Looking at the past 5yrs CHS has the least vacacies left for 2B and 2C this year. Even there is no one registered today there are only 12 for each phase. You have to look the chances of getting into the school you want. Do take note 2C is conducted in all schools at the same time. If didn't manage to get into 1st choice, the 2nd choice may also get filled up at the same time. U can't turn back the clock and go for 2C at the 2nd choice later.
