why not try getting into phase 2B?
We have to decide school first, then consider do PV, and also must within
1km to secure the place !! but this one not applied to my current #1 school - CHS.
To consider within 1km and PV, we probably buy and sell house within this year.... so it's quite urgent for us.How about AT within 1km and PV, is this safe?
If not sell and buy, have to think about Kuo Chuan..
But it's very regret, if not try CHS since we within 1km, and I have two boys, and I'm super kiasu parents...... -

Since you still have a long time before you need to register, why don't you take this period to evaluate all the schools in your area, rather than narrow down to a couple now? You said that \"Guangyang seems not very good school\". Who knows by the time you register, the school may have improved its performance? Nobody expected Qifa to produce top PSLE scholar 3-4 years ago either.Guangyang seems not very good school.. how about Ang Mo kia primary ?
my place is near Bishan north shoppingmall, although my son will enroll in 2014, (2013 register), I still very nervous now. -

Bishan only 4 schools... too little...
I always think that enviorment is very important for primany school.
teacher, culture, reputation, and parents....
I 'm sure every parent who try to send their kids
to top school will defintely put more effort on kids education, won't let
their kids learning bad things..this is what we called: 近朱者赤，近墨者黑。
Qifa or Sengkang primary with top PSLE scholar, is that
student very good, not the school...

Why do you need to sell and buy house this year? Your son's registration is in 2013, so you still have a good 2+ years to do it.
If you're willing to uproot your home and move near the school, then you have more choices of schools than most other parents since you are not limited to those in Bishan, but can choose to go to any other parts of Singapore.
I think you should first decide which schools you would like to send your son to. I know CHS is most preferred but looking at this year's 18 places for 2B and 2C, the situation just doesn't look good, especially with the additions of Natura Loft and Clover by the Park. After deciding the schools (yes, schools), send out your PV applications (which is next year). Like looking for jobs, you are bound to be rejected by some. Once you have been selected for PV, then you can plan to move home.
