I am surprised to read that guzheng already started last Friday! I just got my Ds to submit the cca form today. I have to wait for a cmf letter 1st right? Or can I send him to class this friday??

Same for my son...he just got the CCA letter last Thursday and we returned on Friday... we were asked to wait for the CCA confirmation letter...

He is joining brass band and was advised that brass band will only start in Term 2.

1.3. My son stayed in the same class. His mt is bad lah, so should be one of the worse classes bah. Surprisingly his mt teacher said he’s quite ok. Lol. His tingxie book is back after marking. Just tested on the 5. No extras. Can still get it wrong. Sigh. she’s said the classes are based on the oral capability.

Spoke with Huang laoshi of 1.6 Chinese this morning to clarify. This is what was gathered from conversation:
1. The standard of class 1.6 is above the basic requirements and if time permits, she will quiz them on.words that are seen and.read.in text book. It is also a gauge for her to see the students progress level. The list.provided is for the mass cohort but they will try to match the children's learning progress according to their capabilities hence the additional words.
2. Ds tingxie book is not in school bag and he said he didn't had his tingxie today as he was late from injection .

Oh dear! My son is going to 1.7 for his MT and I hope the streaming is not true!! :xedfingers: Will write to his MT teacher (Mdm Cheong) to clarify this...

Haiz...I am really confused now...why does the school do streaming and did not inform the parents about it? At least they should have given us a letter on the outcome of the streaming and the classes our children will go to for their MT so that we understand how they fair...My son in 1.6 and he just told me that only he and another boy need to move to 1.7 for MT lessons..Just wrote to his MT teacher to seek for answers... :scratchhead:

I used sewing machine. It’s not visible to the eye. I used white and stitched it at the inner edge of the brown circumference.

There’s oral and written test that was done in the first week and the children were ‘streamed’ based on that. I don’t think it’s such a big deal unless our children’s mt is very good and can do higher Chinese in future. If mediocre, I think normal Chinese will be better for them then they can concentrate on other subjects. When they are in pri 4, the parents will be advised again whether to drop higher Chinese to normal Chinese or continue with higher Chinese.

Not sure what is the standard but his ting Xie is only 60marks… He is not good in Chinese de…

Fr all conversation,tat means there are 7 Chinese classes, fr 1.7 to 1.1.I suppose 1.7 is the best, my frd’s son in Chinese 1.1 class says they speak Eng in class as some foreign students couldn’t understand Chinese!??
