Hi Mashy, your son’s case happened in school and lots of witness.

However, incident on my son’s happened when he and the bully (w/ the bully’s younger bro) were the last 3 students to be released on the journey back home. They were both sitting on the last row of the mini van school bus. The school driver was not vigilant enough to detect the bullying, and my son was too scare to response to the driver. Everything was happened so fast and sudden, I only able to detect it after the school bus drove off…

Sch bus is like that. When I was in pri sch and took sch bus, a boy kicked me off the bus when I was descending from the steps. I didn’t even bother telling my parents because they won’t be able to help me. I complained to his teacher but all I got was a ‘are you sure?’ and that’s it.

Perhaps tell him to sit near the bus driver next time. If at the beginning of the trip he is at the back, just move forward as it empties out. I think even if you meet his parents, what can you do? Sue them? Esp if single parents, they will already have other probs of their own and your son is the least of their worries.

Oh dear, maomiko. Your son's experience is quite frightening. I would expect the school put this matter top in their priority, or else, I would report the case to the police!

School bully should not be tolerated at all, although the bullying child may come from a dynfunctional family background.

May I know which school bus number is that? My son is taking bus #9.

          Thanks.

Report the pri sch kid to police? Sure boh? Pri sch only leh. What do u want the police to do? Jail him? Give him warning letter? Think we should also think of appropriate actions from our side. We shouldn’t go overboard either. I’m sure the sch has counselling services to counsel children like this.

If I remember correctly, there was a case of a dad who slapped the bully. I think that is overboard. The dad just became the bigger bully.

As much as we feel heartpain over our kids, we also need to control ourselves.

Not intend to report to police nor MOE, but at least the bully should apology to my DS by the witness of principal and form teachers. This is my minimal requirement, not to far right??

Sure of course! Bear in mind though if your son will continue to take the same school bus back to take precautions. Because some bullies will retaliate. They may take more drastic tactics after that as revenge. So make sure he sits near the bus driver at all times.

He already allocated to sit at the 1st row in the bus. I pray bullying will not happen on him again. 🙏

@lilipitz, I replied you thru PM too, thanks.
