The selection process will be in these order?
- student will better AL score selected first. When it come to last place, and if there are 2 students will same AL score, the student placing that school at 1st choice will be selected and not the student placing that school at 6th choice. And if both student also place that school as 1 choice, then priority will be given to the sporean student. If both are sporean, ballot.
ThksOh no didn’t realise this new thing about rank order for last available spot 😨

Thank you for the sharing 🤗 in my kid’s case, he is more the type who needs a bit more space (and kindness and patience from peers), he gets anxious so I think npcc won’t be suitable (my impression is it’s more regimental). At the same time he’s also not good with competitive sports, so hoping to find a CCA that best fits him. So far, sounds like he can find a good fit with scouting. This might be the deal breaker for us in how we rank the school choices 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
My kid is a Sec 1 in Scouts this year. He said everyone is trying to attain the badges but no one is overly stressed about it (apparently they failed some cooking test today). A lot of work/activities are done in groups, although there are some individual activities to get badges as well. Not sure if the situation would change if they fail to attain badges time after time?lilipitz\" post_id=\"2049006\" time=\"1637996335\" user_id=\"15612:
Thanks zac’s mum. I think for him foot drills still okay. Wonder abt the “tests” they have. To attain badge and promo. And tying knots. I think my kid cannot 😅
It may depend on the school but keep in mind Scouts (or any UG) is often where kids are placed if they cannot get into another CCA of their choice. As a result, my impression is that group members' enthusiasm can vary a bit. Hopefully, each group will have a portion of the members who are giving it their best to make the CCA enjoyable (seems to be the case). If so, I'd think your child can fit in well and both contribute/learn from others.
I'm not sure how directly or in detail this addresses your concerns but my kid has only been doing this for 1 year and activities were somewhat limited this past year due to COVID. -

I do believe teamwork & inclusiveness is emphasized, no worries there. But perhaps those in secondary school Scouts can elaborate more. -

Hi.
Anyone with feedback on Peirce and Christchurch. Not sure which one to list first.
Distance wise, no issue.
Wonder about school environment for express stream. Acad and whole-person devt. -
RE: CCA : scout, boys brigade, St. John’s
Also. Would love to hear if anyone whose kids are in scouts and have some info to share eg the rigour (competitive to complete tests and get badges), inclusiveness (will child with adhd avoid) etc. do they emphasise on helping each other, looking out for one another.

Thanks chief kiasu. If child has no music background, will they take in for symphonic band and teach?

Hi. Wonder if can get feedback as this is also a consideration when my kid chooses secondary school.
He’s got adhd (inattentive). Wonder if these cca will suit him.
Given his condition, we are not looking at UG such as npcc or ncc. But we also want an environment where he can work in groups and pick up skills.
Any feedback will be apprec. Thks
