There are teachers attached to each class…not sure if they are the form teachers?

@flabbymum…our children’ classroom is at lvl 2 right? My DD told me…

@lilipitz…I aso thinking of giving $2 a day. I think shld be enough. If too much $$, they may "contribute" to the bookshop 😛

Hi mashy - Agree with you the orientation can be improved! I did not get to my son's class today...was there until the dismissal when it started to rain.

Taobaby - My son mentioned his class is 'far' from the hall...and he forgotten how to get there! Hence, we were not able to see his class...:(

Liliptz - Thanks for the name information, guess I will have to return tomorrow to get this done...else, 3 weeks is kinda long wait...

After seeing the mixture of students, having some sense of orientation and seeing the expectations on the school, I guess we really have to prepare our children (and ourselves) to face this new phase of life! We are first time parents with first and only child in a Primary school...so, the anxiety is there...I am starting to feel worry for our son...he is so used to being pampered, now, not sure if he could survive P1....

BTW, Taobaby - our kids' class teacher is an elderly Indian lady...I have briefly said 'hi' to her today... 🙂

Did any mummy buy the complete set of books as listed in the book list? I have only bought all the compulsory books, not the optional books…Do you think the teachers will use them all? One of my experienced friend mentioned that sometimes, the teachers do not even ask for the optional books to school…

Haha, I’m also very anxious becoz my boy is not easy to deal with. High inertia, always in dreamland.

Do u know what they did today? My son said some colouring and filling in the blanks? I don’t really trust my son’s word for it. Hahaha.

I got all the compulsory books. Optional ones I only got for Chinese. I didn’t get all stationary. I heard sometimes they don’t even go thru social studies! See how this yr, then next yr will know better.

Looks like yours is the most jing Ming kid here. Ours all blur blur. I asked him who is his teacher, even showed him the photos on the web, he couldn’t remember. Just said there were three women.

Yes, optional Chinese books and optional stationary. I got some. Didn’t get those tang shi DVDs though. Even if get, my boy won’t watch them.

Yes, Mashy and Taobaby - my son said the same thing thing…just coloring, drawing and writing 1-10 today! Warming up for them I guess…

I am still thinking if I should get those optional Chinese books…may change my mind to get them soon! Anyway, our kids will be learning Higher Chinese, make sense to help them more with these books, I hope!
