Been silent reader of TGPS forum as I am looking at putting my kid here.

But these recent comments are a concern.
Also has anyone seen the recent hooha over the sch national day ceremony? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/gvgt-dance-performance-teck-ghee-national-day-observance-today-%2Aalmost-fainted-when-i-saw-%2A-4331792.html

Saw it in the Chinese papers too.

Not sure if the performing group is fr the school or an invited one. If fr the school, what was the teacher and sch thinking, to allow a chinese communist song be used?

very ridiculous right, sing a china Communist patriotic songs during Singapore National Day celebration, right infront of Singapore PM.

Wondering, what the teacher in charge or the person who choose this song trying to proof.

Try to proof, Singapore is part of China?

Do you know the song Lyrics,
            战士的豪情女儿心
            心系千万家
            女兵走在大街上
            花香引路香天涯
            平安幸福和欢乐
            送给祖国妈妈
            啦啦.....平安幸福和欢乐
            送给祖国妈妈
            祖国妈妈

            =========
Only PRC address China as 祖国

The student are too young to understand it.
So I blame the person who approve it, the person who choose this song.

Can mummies / daddies from TGPS enlighten me on previous years’ orientation programme?

Kids go with the class and parents stay in hall? FOrms to fill?
Anyone knows about bridging classes for those who have not attended kindy?

Last yr form filling was done during PSLE marking days where existing pupils not in school and parents given a letter indicating a day and time slot to report to school to fill in forms and get the P1 temporary name tag for week 1 and 2 in new yr.
Actual orientation day, parents who were not free and yet to fill in forms can fill while in the school hall, P and teachers briefing. Pupils go classroom n existing P1 teachers just orientate them with classroom n school tour. Extra time, they were watching video while waiting for hall briefing to end.
Day 1 in P1 no bridging yet. As they move into lessons in week 3 or so, weaker pupils in math n english will be identified from each class. They will be taken out by another teacher to another room to coach with more support - LSP n LSM my DS says.
MTL still stays as a class till mid Apr where once a week, the better or weaker will move to another class for an hr. The rest of the week stays as a class.
