When I joined pv last time, it was the ex- ex principal so probably not the same. I guess you need to highlight your strength and the areas in which you can help. For e.g. if you're SAHM, you can tell them your hours are flexible and can come in as and when required for contact time (one hr every week on Wed). I heard a parent can take professional photographs so she volunteered to be photographers on special events. Another was an artist and she volunteered in some art project.

Not so sure about RS Society. You could also explore Grassroot which be more flexible.

Thanks starry15, only now i feel i should learn more to qualify for a PV myself is full time working engineer and hubby bio scientist, was surgery doctor before, if highlight this got any better chance? we are staying within 1km...

Maybe can proposed to help science club or coach the Psle students science subject? I guess the more you write the higher chance of being selected.

Yep, if my daughter got the seat, i will also go for a family celebration I was initially planing for PV for Tao Nan, thinking of the difficulty in getting the seats and not staying within 1km, finally we gave up the idea, and only focus on RSS, hopefully can get through...

yes. something like clan. join and when u need to register, ask for letter to be eligible for phase 2b. But need existing member to endorse then can join

Good luck in advance to parents registering in RSS under Phase 2C. I was not given the opportunity then as my mil's address, though fall under 1km, my child will be under the 1-2km ~ which gives her no chance to balloting at all.


Having waited for 2 years, she was finally given a chance in RSS. I would strongly recommend you to go for this school if you are a strong believer in academics. Having been to 3 schools before, I would comment that RSS have prepared and provided the opportunity for every child to excel academically. Best part is, they do not believe is streaming your child at young age. SO even if your child is a late-bloomer, he or she still is still given the fair opportunity till end of P4, which to me is very important. How many children out there actually know the importance of examinations at the tender young age ? :roll:

Which level is your child in now? My gal is in P3 this year. Yes, RSS do not stream children into "best" and "not so good" classes till end of P4. RSS is probably one of the few pri schools that does not believe in streaming. I know TPS have streaming every year. So depending on whether the child can maintain the results, they may be in different class every year. I guess there is pros and cons to streaming but the stress is great on parents and the kids.
