Henry Park Pri School GEP
-
Dear parents,
I am looking for info on HPPS GEP. Pls help if u are hpps gep parents. thank you very much -
Anyone?
-
hello, i like to find out more about HPPS GEP. Anyone know how many days a week the Geppers need to stay back? What kind of optional enrichment program is there for Geppers on Wed afternoons? TIA.

There seems to be not much info on HPPS’s GEP. Is it because not many KS parents do not have children in this school.

Henry Park parents all not kiasu?

same thought. Maybe that is why the kids looked very jovial and humorous to me, less pressure?

I understand they are going to have a principal, Chia Soo Keng and he is a very popular principal from Endeavour pri school. My DS like the fact that they have his favourite CCAs.

Hi Parents,
My DD graduated from HPPS GEP more than 5 years ago, but since no one is giving any feedback, I will provide some. Some teachers may have joined and left, some are still there, so hopefully not much has changed?
Generally, the kids back then were also like what you have observed, happy, humorous, they are also down-to-earth and playful. Many more boys than girls, in fact, my DD was one of the only 2 girls in her class. The other class had slightly more. But she had no problem playing with the boys. The environment there was really not kiasu, most did not have tuition except maybe in MT. Teachers are very caring, they can still remember each and everyone of them when they visit them on Teachers Day or CNY. As my DD did not take HCL, her class was multiracial, Probably less diversity in a SAP school. The GEP kids also mixed well with the mainstreamers during CCA. (heard that in one school, the GEP kids are placed up high on the pedestal by the teachers such that the mainstreamers dislike them).
Hope that helps! Feel free to ask more. -

Angell, thanks for the insights. What made you choose hpps, it has no affiliation to sec school, or was it irrelevant?Hi Parents,

Affiliations wasn't on our mind when we were making our choice. Actually, we were very very blur back then, have not heard of GEP until my DD was selected for 2nd round.

Our choice was based on distance and MT and co-ed school. Since we are in the west, the choices are limited to RGPS, NHPS, NYPS and HPPS. We wanted a mixed school, so RGPS is out. We did not want HCL so NH and NY are out. So we are left with HPPS. Also, we were looking for a less kiasu environment. Finally, we wrote down only two choices, HPPS and NHPS.
There are not many with affiliations except NYPS (which applies to the girls only) and ACS? No affiliations for RGPS.
