I got mine from Cellini. Two separate pieces but just put them next to each other to form 2m length.

They can even customize a special fabric that is stain-free, kids spill any drinks on it, just spray with water and rub off.

thanks for the info. my current one is also from Cellini. 1 piece sofa but 2 seat cushion and I find the joint part very uncomfortable to sit on. Cellini quality is very good. my sofa so many years old, but still in very good condition.

I am looking for a sofa, about 2m long. No arms (whole 2m is sitting area) 1 piece seat cushion. Preferably high back rest so my head can rest on something while sitting. Sounds very simple but I can’t seem to find such sofas. Anyone has seen and any reco?

Recently, I have been buying some furniture from Taobao. Surprisingly, the quality is quite good! But to save on shipping, I would suggest using Ezbuy Prime where shipping is a flat $2.99. BUT the actual item might be slightly more ex than the taobao price as it's on Prime
I have been thinking about this but I was told not all items on Taobao enjoy ezbuy prime shipping, is it true? Is there a way to find out if the items we want can be shipped by ezbuy prime before paying for the subscription?

Hi all I would like to ask if the sports CCA take in students who are doing the sport recreationally or they only take those who have trained competitively?
My son was selected for a racket sport he has never played before joining RI. But he trained with his primary school in another racket sport. I guess if the skills’ transferable, it’s possible to be selected for a sport they have not trained competitively, also depends on which sports cca.

      Hi,

Is there a level chat for y1 parents? thanks

Personally I feel that there's no need for this. The school has a practice of inviting the Y1 parents for a briefing in the early part of the year where parents will be segregated based on their boys' classes. That's when class level WhatsApp groups are formed.

Anyway from what I gathered, most of the time those WhatsApp groups are dead silent (like mine had less than 10 msgs per year after the initial excitement died down). In any case, when our boys enrol in RI, that's a good time they start to take ownership of their studies (if they haven't already done so). I told my boy it'll be so embarrassing for me (and him) to seek any clarification in the parents WhatsApp group when he is old enough to clarify his doubts from his peers himself.

I agree that the children got to take ownership of their studies. I believe it starts in primary school. I appreciate chat group for myself. Some parents send reminders for parents to do stuff once a while. My bad, I should take ownership, but I can get very forgetful. 😓

How to define stingy? Anyone has the official number of COs RGS gave out? I went for RI post psle talk and they mentioned they gave out about 120 COs during this year DSA. That’s about 30% of a 400 cohort.

    • RE: Bright kids not selected into GEP - please give ideas on how to engage them outside of school syllabus

      Hi cutepandabear

Do you have an elder gep child? My elder child was gep and younger one was not selected. She is very high ability thus teachers were surprised she was not selected. Teachers who taught both children feedback they have similar ability but very different learning attitude. From P4-6, I did not do anything extra or special for the younger one, I left her alone. The school would pick her for all sorts of enrichments and sent her for competitions, thankful to the school. Sometimes she read during lesson time and most of the time, the teachers left her alone. She had easy life in P4-6 and I think it was good for her as she dislikes doing school work (not too diligent). she did very well for psle and went on to the school of her choice. she is stretched in secondary school like her elder sibling, so "no loss" not being in gep class… she had easier life in P4-6 and so much more free time to read, day dream and "do nothing"…
