      Hi All

I’ve just received a letter confirming that my boy has secured a place for P1 in ATS next year… I know I should be happy about it… However I’m in dilemma now…
as we are staying in Yishun, due to traveling in distance, I don’t know if I have made the right choice in enrolling him in ATS… Have checked with the school bus company and according to them, they will pick up kids residing in Yishun as early as 1100Hrs… Sigh! Poor boy has to travel such a long hour in future… Or do you think I should put him in student care (nearby ATS) instead… Any advice, please, is appreciated…

Hi, I’m staying in Yishun too! I’m also considering if I shd put my boy in student care. But tt will mean tt he will need to wake up early, go student care, revise hw at student care etc… not sure if he will be tired by the time he needs to go to school… 😛 I will most likely be dropping my boy at my mom’s place (at Yishun too) so tt at least he will hav nice home cooked lunch before he goes to sch…

We're staying in Sengkang and got in through 2(a)2. I have contacted CABCY student centre and spoken with the supervisor Mrs Tan, she informed me that the centre is just behind Bishan point so its quite near the school. All of her kids are from ATS. For pm session kids will usually reach centre at 8.30, light snack is served followed by homework revision and a bit of play time. Kids then have bath and lunch. Bus driver pick them up at 11.30 to 11.45 as they have to be in school by 12.15 pm for silent reading. They prefer to let the kids take transport as school bags can be heavy and also just in case of rain. One way journey to school is 25 bucks. We can arrange with school bus co to have our kids picked up from school and sent directly home, fee to be advised by bus co. I think thats our best bet for the kids. Morning will have to either cab to school to drop son off before work or buy a cheap car 😞 .... Will head down to see centre next week, Mrs Tan says us parents can drop by anytime to look/see

Hi have any parents registered for the Pre-primary 1 hanyu pin yin class organized by the alumni? Am wondering if I should sign up or not and appreciate reviews if your kids have attended it before. Thanks!

Hi! My son is currently primary 1 (afternoon session) and we stay in Yishun ( Khatib area) and takes the school bus. The bus comes at 11.45am. I think it is very good timing although he is one of the last to be picked up before travelling directly to school. I don’t think the buses starts so early like 11am for the 1st student. it is better to check with the bus company.

They also arrange CCAs pick up for those that join CCAs. it is very convenient. You just have to pay extra per trip basis.

whichever student care you go, you can always arrange with the bus company.

                Hi isishui & lukeysmummy

Many thanks for sharing. I will agree with isishui as kids may get tired before going to school if they are put in student care… So I guess I will let him take school bus first and see how it goes… If the bus is going to pick him up that early, I will consider the student care then… Once again, thanks… Cheers…

                  Hi kwokhs

Thanks so much for your info. If the bus were to fetch my son at 1145Hrs, then that will be fine. I am just worried that if my son has to take an early lunch before taking the bus , he will get hungry before the tea break.

By the way, what time does your son arrive home in the evening?

                    Hi Kluvs

I’ve just signed up for my boy… I am not sure how good it will be but I believe it will be beneficial to him in some way…

                      Hi Kluvs,

My daughter is currently in P1. She had attended the course which was fairly simple covering the basics and my daughter did have prior classes with Berries which touched on HYPY. She found the course to be easy but I had signed her up for classes so she could also get to mingle with her schoolmates a bit before school commenced.

                      Hope this info helps. 🙂

Thanks for the feedbacks. 🙂 Currently my boy is with Berries as well but think will just sign up for it as well to let him adapt to school environment easier...
