Didn't know that I will have to bother about such buttons. Thanks for all the contribution and I've decided to sew all the buttons onto the small button holes
And wash the shirts with a laundry bag.
Also, went to the book shop to check out their version of ringless button. They sew the metal button back to back onto a small normal button. So you can just slide the normal button thru the hole and it will hold the metal button in its place. Cool! This method allows you to remove and put on the buttons easily (for wearing and washing) without the rings!
Btw, the Parade Square next to the canteen - is it the place with the Water Wheel?
Also, will the side gate at St 24 be very crowded in the morning? Since it is also used by Whitley Sec Sch? Is the back gate better, the one at Pemimpin Place?
TIA
so u went to the bookshop n check it out hmm... wht u say is they sew the metal button onto a normal button so is it possible to take out the button wen washing or hv to wash together with the button? -
My boy will be in P3 Goodness too… hope he won’t be stressed and continue to enjoy his learning journey in CHS.

Hi, I am an old boy from CHPS and I have 2 boys. I am hoping to send them to CHPS but I am still concern ove the long journey from choa chu kang.
So just wondering if anyone live in this part of Singapore and could advise what time would they need to leave home and if there are buses that comes here.
We are considering if we should send them to a school nearby or move nearer to CHPS (prices too high)
Thanks a lot. -

Yes, buttons can be removed for washing. Basically, the small normal button will slide thru the button hole and then put the metal button in place. It makes putting on and taking down buttons so much easier without the rings! The small normal buttons are the size of those at the cuffs of man's shirt, not those normal front buttons (too big, cannot go thru the button holes)

However, I prefer to sew the buttons direct onto the shirt, so no need to remove for washing. -

Yes, parade square is the one next to canteen as you mention. The kids will go to their classroom to put their schoolbags and then assemble at parade square every morning.
I personally prefer to use pemimpin place to drop off. Gate opening times:
weekdays:
6-7.30am
1.30-2.30pm -
Thanks Karmeleon for the info

P2 to P3 is a big jump in all subjects, expect result to drop between 10 to 20 points if P2 result he is within the Level’s Std Dev or lower 16 to 17 percentile. Maybe 5 points if he is in the top 16 to 17 percentile in whole level (you can calculate from the attachment slip in the report book). Besides you will have a new headache Science if your kids do not like it.
Next big jump will be P4 to P5.

Old boys hah, CHPS somemore, knock your head, its CH or CHS. Its either 公教中学 or 公教中学附小, never 公教小学.
No matter how far, I think its worth the while.
You can ask those next year P1 who currently just went orientation to check school bus check list to see if there are school bus from CCK going to CH.
I stay Sembawang, my boy gets onto school bus at 6am, reach school 6.45am, half and hour earlier than assembly time. -
sorry about the PS, too lazy to write the whole name ,Catholic High School (Primary).
Anyway, that's a good tip using sembawang as reference point. I use to live in Clementi and travel by bus to the old premises next to SJI. The journey was more than 1.5 hours but it was fun because of the company from the senior on the same bus...
Anyway, any nice parent willing to take a look at the school bus list and let me know if there is indeed a bus from CCK to CHS.
AppreciatedJonC:
