does CH rank the students by class position and make it know in the report bk at p1 or p2 or any other level?
No. -
just curious, how to succeed in getting a transfer into CH after the boy starts p1 in other sch?
academic results must be how gd?
other factors?
(besides gep n donation, that is)
just wonder if i do reg my boy in MS, shd i still apply for transfer into CH for later years. any benefits? -
Why MS than go CH?
Might as well stay at MS or start of with CH.
It’s not easy to just change and change, touch for both parents and kids.
CH is getting popular, to go in at P4, seems GEP is the only way. Other level P1, P2 or P3 needs very good result too.
Chances at P5 onwards is not only slim but almost none from what I see the pass few batches. -
Hi all,
I am new and I love this forum!! Good to know that they are so many parents out there who are concerned with the same subject matters as me!!
Can I ask the parents of P4 CHS students? I heard that the recent SA2 Math was extremely difficult. They are like Math Olympaid kinda of questions and quite a number of students actually failed or the highest in class was only around 60+. Is it really so scary?
If CHS is trying to push their math standard to this level, why is it that their PSLE results have been so-so these past years? Are the different text book and different teaching method really effective?
If DHS is going to depend on P5 results and due to the exceptionally difficult math papers, the children may fare poorly in their papers and may impact their DSA chances rt?
What do parents think? Please share.
Thanks!! -
According to what I know, the "2 maths paper" of primary school are NYPS and CHS. There are some school with difficult paper, but these 2 schools kept the kind of standard for a whole already.
Many school are following or trying to follow their foot step.
CH has a long history (I really mean history as some of the old boys are already father or even grandfather) for being strong in maths. -
Hello everyone. My kid will be attending P1 next year and I need to understand the CCA situation better cos I didn’t quite catch what the principle was saying and the infopack didn’t give enough info… so here goes…

Is aesthetics CCA mandatory?
I emailed the private coordintor for the Band CCA and he mentioned practice will be 2-3.30pm. How are P1 kids going to take care of themselves for lunch, etc?
What if CCA bus doesn’t have the bt merah route?
CCA seems like quite a hassle… esp for kids so young… can he not sign up for any CCA during P1/P2 at all? -

I think so too.. my dad is now nearly 70 and his maths has always been good, my maths is not shabby too (As at 'O' and 'A' levels).. -

er.. no leh.. tables were set up for registration at orientation and aesthetics CCA form was also in the infopack.. we heard the principal use the word 'mandatory' .. that's why we're a little confused.. and the Band screening is on 1st day of school at 2pm!
