Ops, i was just pulling your leg, hope you don't mind ... Actually, I'm not a P1 parent.. My DS1 has just finished his PSLE last year (2011), and my DS2 will be in P4 when school reopens tomorrow.

Is it easy to get transfer into CHS pri from another sch?

Is the waiting Q long and what are the important criteria other than having older brother in the sch?

First day of school already! My DS now in P3 - new class with new classmates. Have to network with new parents and teachers again, and get used to new schedules…

Is it true that there is much more homework in P3? What are the key things or changes that I should prepare myself and my son mentally for?

So coincidental. I found 2 fellow parents here. 1 for DS2, 1 for DS3.

Hi, Figaro, DS2 in 3 Kindness also. DS3 in P1 today, so I spent my morning with him, so didn't go to DS2's class this morning, also don't want to climb so many storeys

DS1 was from Cat High Pri. Now in Cat High Sec 1. Yes, P3 got more HW. Also, now with 4 subjects, got more things to learn. And compo (E & HCL) are more demanding now, expect to write at least 4 proper paragraph. Math also more demanding in P3, but since using school produced material, teacher will teach them to cope.

Overall, P3 is manageable, and there'll still be time for play.

And also, P3 onwards, encouraged to join CCA, so got to factor in the time. Also, may have supplementary classes in the afternoon.

This morning, I went to take some pictures of him, then went to the hall to listen to Mr Lee's speech. I left before they divide the parents into the classes, as I need to rush to work. Were you there this morning?
