Today, so far only bring back some handouts. No indication of any class blog yet. I just read what ds2 wrote in diary.
Not sure if P3 teachers will still communicate via classblog. They may want to train the boys to take charge themselves. DS1 also previously don't have classblog since P1, everything write into diary; only ds2 & now ds3 have. -
Hi Careermum, Toralina - great to be acquainted! Thanks Careermum for the tips.
My DS was certainly excited about this new class and couldn’t stop talking about the mambo jumbo yesterday. Did your son tell you that 8 of the boys in the class were transferred from other schools? Looks like Cat High is very good at getting talents from other schools too
Also, DS said that 5 boys were supposed to be in 3 KIN according to their report books, but their names were not on the official class list… And one boy supposed to be in the Kindness class was "AWOL". What a mess… I hope it has cleared up by now.
According to hubby, when they arrived in the class, most of the boys were reading quietly!!! So kuai.
I hope there’ll be a class blog so I can keep track… See you around during the class parties! -
wow, your boy can actually tell you so many things. when i asked mine what he did in class, he just said, "work."
maybe i need to refer back here for what’s happening in school ! haha. -
Wow, Figaro, your son is very well-informed, got so many "insider tips". DS2 only told me he was paired up with a new boy from another sch, & was given the responsibility to show him around the school, and explain some sch stuff to him, & he brought that boy to make a new library card.

Yes, I'm fortunate my DS is quite observant and I try to chit chat with him everyday to learn what happened in class. The 8 newbies were all assigned with buddies... and everyone had to complete worksheets on their academic and personal goals, plus the observations from the follow the leader game they played. My DS said one boy wrote that his academic goal is to get into MIT... wah
very motivated!
Careermum (and other forummers here) - do you enrol your sons in the HCL Chinese Language Centre which was supposedly started by a former Cat High Chinese teacher? I heard many Cat High boys have Chinese classes there. When I visited them a few weeks ago, they told me more than 50% of their students are from Cat High... Are the classes there really good? How do they compare with Berries or Tien Hsia? Also thinking whether the Compo/Compre is better, or the normal Chinese tuition class. Appreciate any feedback or experience you have with this centre! -

Hi, Figaro and other mummies, thanks for your interesting sharing. Though my son is not same grade as yours but I think the activies are same and he quite enjoy. When I ask him have you wrote an academic goal today, he was very suprised, how can I know...I told him I got magic info... :imcool:Yes, I'm fortunate my DS is quite observant and I try to chit chat with him everyday to learn what happened in class. Hi,
Can anyone share the overall SA2 results for year 2011 … the small attachment slip that comes with the report book indicating the level mean, max, … marks for each subject? Some parents said it is a big jump from P2 to P3 while others said it is from P3 to P4.
Also, does CHS release such statistics for every test or just SA2? I know some schools do that for every test.
Thanks. -
