      phtthp:
      agree, well said!

because once your own internal house is divided up with internal rivalry, with problems unresolved, there is no peace. Easily prone to external enemies outside who may seize the opportunity to attack.

in contrast, if everyone inside the house / school is united, then there is UNITY. When there is Unity, there is STRENGTH! Unity and Strength come together. One school, one heart in unison. Then the school can progress forward, advance faster.
These are motherhood statements. The Principal has to remove these destructive elements in the school or coax them to work with her. If she is not successful, GY will continue to suffer the consequences of :

      a. low students enrolment (I was just told that low enrolment was not due to GY being in a holding school but the school is really unpopular and failing to produce results)
      b. poor results because teachers don't do their work
      c. poor quality of teachers
      d. poor reputation from the above and constant blackmouthing by teachers of the Principal and the school
      e. etc... to many to write.

I think someone should alert the either sleeping Principal or too busy to bother with the school affairs principal of this problem, otherwise the children will suffer. Again I was told that the Principal is not accessible, maybe one kind soul can try to reach her to alert her.

          hi,

my daughter is currently in p1 guangyang primary…(I could not get a place for her to Ai tong despite a 75 pct chance!!!)…initially I and my wife were apprehensive cos we have never heard of GYPS. After nearly a yr , my daughter feels very comfy in the school …they have friendly staff…teachers and a new principal…mdm wu …though I have not spoken to the P yet…i find her style very suitable for GYPS if the school wan further progress in both academic and non academic fields. And I have enrolled my second daughter to GYPS without a second thought or stress at all.

Mixing with people from all walks of life, local or non local…are very important skill sets if ur kids want to succeed. cos the real world is not perfect world…perfect academic scores or perfect eca scores count for nothing in the real world if you dont hv good social skills…moral skills…a bit of good luck…good family bonding/support and surrounded by genuine good friends.

Thus, i feel parents should not be overly concerned about brand names primary schools or brand name perceptions…more importantly, ur kids must be taught good family values…good moral character and more importantly, ability to respect people of different backgrounds, different races and different lifestyles…

            windie:
I was told there are quite a number of foreigners in GY perhaps due to the fact that there are many popular schs such as cat high, ATS and kcps in bishan, all full by phase 2c.

The orientation was 11.11.11 (nice date) . The number of foreigners are probably around 25% . i guess they have no choice unless they opt for International school ,which is 8x to 10x of the foreigners' school fee.
I hope it will be a good exposure for my kid to have them as classmates.

              Hi,

Anyone know of any school bus service who can provide pickup outside the 2 km radius from school? None of the recommended bus service providers are willing to do so. Thanks!

mmjj not likely unless you are willing to pay extra. My place is ard 2km. I was told the fare is SGD 160.00 (same price for 1 or 2-way) . Kinda expensive . Besides the pick-up ard 5.45am…

Gosh …I rather fetch my kid to school at least they can sleep at little longer.
