          Hi All,

Would be evaluating to register with CHIJ (Kellock) this year so would like to check out the following:

          (1) Does the school start the class late? I notice that a school bus arrive at my place is at 7am. (Bt Merah)

          (2) Generally how is the school term hours like? I heard that Friday it ends very late like 4pm. Is it due to ECA session?

          (3) When will the students be offer to take Higher Chinese? If being offer, would the school test them on Normal Chinese or Higher Chinese in CA & SA session?

          (4) Does the school bus provides additional service for students that happened to stay back due to remedial or ECA?

          (5) Anyone if have the school bus operator contact can PM me. Greatly appreciated.

Hi parents , may I check whether what is the appropriate attire to wear during dados with PE lesson.

Do the girls just wear the PE T shirts and shorts or have to wear the pinafore over it when going to school and only remove it during PE lesson?
            Thanks

I let my gal wear the pinafore over the pe shirt and short. Check out the school rules and regulations on the sch Website. Think this should be the way

                Hi thanks ....
Based on the website, it seems that the pinafore is not required.
That's what my DD told me also but it seems almost everyone is wearing the pinafore so we just follow.

Can any other parents share their knowledge?

My dd wears a pinafore and PE shorts every day. The regular shirt/PE shirt is worn based on whether there is PE that day.

Ok thanks for the affirmation... that means the kids have to remove their pinafores before the PE lessons and wear it back themselves after ...
I remembered some schools allow their kids to be on their PE attire without the pinafore during days that have PE lessons.

                      Dear Parents,

Have you been noticing a slew of letters from school asking us to sign up for english books/ math worksheets/ etc and they are from private providers?(e.g Little Red Dot)

Are these really necessary ? Shouldnt the home work from the teachers suffice? Why must the school actively pass the children so many requests from different private providers to sign up for such materials?

                      Confused mama

You really have received a slew of letters in two weeks?!

We have received only the one from Little Red Dot. We didn't sign up. Simple as that.

P1-P2 is the time to learn to adjust to school and timetables, homework and mini-assesments. We don't sign up for any after-school classes or extra worksheets.

The school is making some extra enrichment opportunities available for parents who want these options but may not be aware of all that is available. There may also be a volume discount by signing up through the school. But the teacher has clearly communicated to the girls that these worksheets are optional.

There is one that is sort-of necessary - the Marshall Cavendish Online portal - but that is a homework resource all schools in Sg are using; and it uses your Edusave$, so that is not a financial consideration as such.
