The students will go through selection tests and if the coach thinks they are suitable, they will be selected even if they did not play the sport in pri sch.
For Sports CCA, let's just take netball or softball for example. If a child didn't take these 2 sports at pri level, can she be able to do netball or softball cca in NHS? -

Hi Phtthp
Please choose Crescent.mercy\" post_id=\"1949120\" time=\"1574666166\" user_id=\"8070:
I’m deciding between st Margaret and Crescent. I read a lot of good reports about Crescent. However, after visiting the schools, I’m very impressed by the environment in st Margaret. I’m struggling because I’m worry whether st Margaret is academically driven, and whose >24x students will be driven to do well.
Why choose Crescent? I'm also facing the same dilemma as Mercy. Can't decide between these two schs. Read ksp and fb groups and receive mixed reviews.
Appreciate your help to share some insights. Thanks! -

I don't think you can compare the crescent building with those independent school buildings, in terms of size / extra facilities. But i would say it is not lacking in all the necessities.

From a parent's pov:
Some healthy competition is good. I will be worried if majority of the girls are too laid back.
Teachers : As with every school, top or neighbourhood schools, you get good and bad teachers. It cuts across all schools. I've come across teachers who can motivate the students, and also teachers who play favouritism / discourage the students.
Notes: Yes plenty of notes. To the extent the textbooks are hardly used. I wonder why we have to buy textbooks.
Thanks a lot for sharing your pov! Agree with you that healthy competition is good. The school compound looks quite small and older than some other schools. Do you know if they will be upgrading in the near future?
I am considering between this and St Margaret, would you have any feedback on this sch as well? Thanks for taking the time to reply me.
Between Crescent and St Margs, the choice is pretty obvious if you are familiar with the sch scene.
I know many St Margs pri girls do not want to remain in St Margs if their T score permits them to move to better schs.[/quote]May I ask why the St Margs pri girls do not want to choose there? Pls PM me if it's not appropriate to share here. I thought their COP is decent and has many years of history. -

Hi! I would like to find out the school environment, is it very competitive among the students? How are the teachers? Are they helpful and do they provide lots of notes? Thanks!
