Was it a Chinese teacher?Parents,
Have you ever heard from your children that the teachers scolded the students \"stupid\", \"idiots\"?
Though my children are not the one being scolded, I'm so disappointed to hear my kids coming back from school and telling me \"Mummy, today my teacher scolded so and so stupid\", \"Mummy, today relief teacher scolded xxx and xxx \"These 2 idiots can't stop talking and playing\".
I have also heard of teacher telling student \"shut up lah\" and CCA teacher throwing clipboard on the floor and papers from the clipboard flew when the boys were not listening to instructions during CCA.
Parents, did your children ever tell you about incidents like these? I know teachers are also human but they are the role models for the students. -

yes P3. I have checked with other mommies also in P3, they told me their children have remedial. Is all depend on Teacher.
Then, you'd better be prepared for another big drop when your child reaches P5.
Actually, why do you want your child to attend remedial? I would rather my child not be required to attend remedial because it would mean he is able to cope.
Perhaps you may like to speak to the form teacher about your child's performance?
Because my girl can't cope. -

Because my girl can't cope.
Could it be duento the fact that she is in P3, which is very different from P1/2? Do you mind sharing what you think are her weaknesses? Maybe other parents will have some suggestions.
Not many teachers conduct remedial lessons. Would you like to PM me so that we can discuss further? -
My DS2 is currently in P3. So far, I have no complaints on his teachers for this year. The teachers are committed & responsible. His grades did dropped this year esp Chinese, mainly cos he is not good at oral and compo. He can’t understand the oral topics (conversation) and he can’t write the compo. I understand that there are remedial classes conducted for his class.
As for inappropriate words used in class, you can feedback to the Principal. I know of 1 parent who fedback to Principal when he heard 1 teacher shouting to the P1 during orientation.
For relief teachers issues, can also feedback to Principal / VP. I did that last year cos my DS2’s co-FT who taught the class Eng and Maths was a relief teacher, untrained. From the incidents mentioned by my DS2, the co-FT couldn’t handle the rowdy class. The timetable was not followed at times so some days, there was no lesson on Eng and some days, no lesson on Maths. VP told me there was manpower issue and mentioned the manpower may come in mid of last year. Aft the feedback, I realized there were minor changes like VP will "spot check" class, other trained teacher will stand in etc. Till Term 3, the class finally had a trained co-Form.
Talk to the teachers if you have concerns over your kids’ studies…it should help. -

The teacher who scolded \"shut up lah\" is a Chinese CCE teacher. That happened last year when my child was in P2. Come on lah, you are teaching CCE and that's the way you speak! Then there was another incident whereby they were having 弟子规, you know the sentences end with 什么 什么教 and 1 boy said the private part in baby language in dialect which rhymes with jiao. Then the same teacher said will pull down his shorts and let people see! :slapshead:

Indeed, we were lucky to have good teachers for his current class.
Not sure for Chinese remedial classes cos I din ask him whether there is any.
But I know there were remedial classes conducted for other subjs.
His FT is very committed. She teaches the class - Eng, Maths and Science. (Science starts fr Sem 2)
Super "on" too… regular brief updates (in fact daily updates) on what was being taught, what need to be done etc etc. My DS2 is not easy to handle, FT did a lot to check on him.
Chinese Tr is good too, I realised there is more compo practices as compared to my DS1’s time in RMPS.
Assignment of Teachers to which classes is not within our control, we can only hope for the best… -
Hi Dino mummy
From what you have described, it seems that our children are in the same class.
