What is your feedback of this school? Thinking to register either beacon or CHIJ(Our lady queen of peace)

Dear Parents,

My child will be transferring to Beacon Pri wef Term3. She will be assigned to Class 1/1 (P1). Is there any parents whose kids are at class 1/1?
Would like to know more about the curriculum covered for Term 1 & 2. Has there been a lot of homework or project work done in the past Terms? Would welcome any feedback or comments pertaining the school.

Hi laestrella…


My child is from class 1/2. If I am not wrong…for the first term is P1, the school only covered English and Chinese. Maths curriculum only start in term 2. The curriculum is basically the same as the other school. The only project I remember is the DST - Digital Story Telling. I think the main different at P1 in Beacon compared to other pri sch is the Beacon portal where the student will log in to do some works in it. The games are fun and some of the maths concept embedded in the game are beyond their age group but nevertheless still doable. Hmm…in a way it will helps to lay some good concepts in them at this age in a fun and interactive way.

If you could get your hands on the recent test - which I think is quite close to an exam std paper in other schools…will be a good gauge of the standard your child will be facing in the school.

Do we have to buy note-book for our children..if yes, at which level? What is the budget?

Does the workload increase much in the P3/P4 level?

The pupil will have to buy the notebook end of p 3 … the workload lesser compare to other school.

Wanted to check if any parents know about the b121 program? How does it work? If we get the notebook for our kids, will there be subsidies?

Quite ex....consider it's a school program... My son is in P2 this year. That mean end next year will be his turn.

You should receive invitation during mid of the year to view the notebook as collection will be during mid of November.
