Hi, any parents here can recommend me a good home-based tutors around Bukit Panjang area. I’m planning to let my girl to go for tuition classes next year when she is in P1.
Thanks in advance! -
Hi vividlaurel,
Thanks so much for sharing~! -
Hi Mummies & Daddies,
does anyone here got the meal coupon (breakfast & lunch) from school to your children? I would like to know how much will it be? thanks -
Hi,
Is it true that Beacon P3 onwards students hv no or less homework as compare to other schools?
Beacon is considered as Future School. So how does it incorporate IT into its curriculum? Will the P6 kids hv difficulty adapting to secondary schools? If Beacon Students are so much into IT?
Can someone advise?
TIA! -
Hi,
This depends on the teacher I think. My children do not get much hw, but others say they get a lot!
In Beacon IT is incprporated into the curriculum from day 1 and they use it in subjects like English, Maths. As to whether the students will have difficulty in adapting to sec school, we'll know only in 2014 as the first cohort will sit for PSLE next year (2013). From what I think they definitely use more than the usual schools, but this is good as the school gives them skills which are more useful in secondary school and beyond.
Hope this helps!dearzen:

Anyone going to the school this sat to get the P1 textbooks? Which is easier - order online n get a date to collect the books or just go down directly to the sch n get? :?
-
When my kids were in P1, I ordered online and just went down to collect books. Found that to be easier than going there and getting it. By ordering online, they keep your books ready for you, so it does finish fast. You will also need to buy uniforms, pay bus fees (if your child is taking bus) and also the canteen coupons (I think) on the same day.
Also experience shows that if you go a bit later in the day, you wont find a big crowd!! But if you are working, this is a moot point.
Last, if you are not driving, carry a trolley with you to bring back the things - will get quite heavy otherwise!kiwiger:

Thanks for the info!!
Oh, the sch is still using canteen coupons for the P1 kids? Hmm... if I'm going to let my girl brings her own food, do I still need to buy the coupons?
I'm still thinking if I should let my girl takes the school bus cos from my place to sch shld takes about 20mins to walk.vividlaurel:

No, my kids also used to take food to school so I never brought the coupons.
If it takes 20 mins to walk, maybe you should consider bus at least when she is in P1-P2. From my place it takes around 12-15 mins so my kids have been taking bus all these years. Next year I am considering allowing them to come back on their own.kiwiger:
