Does the school conduct swimming classes for students?
Have the impression from friend that by a certain age, it is compulsory for the students to join the swimming lesson unless the student already has some swimming certificates (like the survivor bronze or something, but think the system has changed now).
Not sure if my impression is correct. Would like to find out too as we have external swimming lessons already. -

My DS is in P3, so maybe I have the most updated info reg swimming
. For this year's P3, swimming is not compulsory but students can sign up for 'swim safer' course conducted at a venue in Bt Timah (cannot rem now) at a very low cost. One of my DS' classmate is attending but most kids did not sign up as they have at least a Bronze cert.
As for the swimming pool, Mrs Lee, the principa informed in the meet-the-parent session in early 2011 that the management has decided not to construct it, ie the new sports complex will not have a pool. -

Most likely so. The new construction will incl the sports complex as well as new buildings at the current P1 &2 campus versus the prior plan of a sports complex only. Maybe the $$ is better used in this way.

I am troubled that my girl cannot cope with the Nanyang Primary Chinese syllabus although she has tuition for every subject. She comes home tired and weary everyday and tells me how much she hates chinese. So can some kind soul please help me and give me some tips on how I can make her enjoy Chinese is a sense that she does not come to me to complain about it.
