Just looked at the P3 maths paper. I thought there was a question which was pretty vague, the one with the 3D drawing of a tissue box, one side shaded, and the question was how many right angles were there on the shaded side. If you look strictly at the drawing you would say zero (my son’s answer) but if you think about the real tissue box it would be 4 (the correct answer).

        Why 0??

A shaded side of a tissue box is a rectangle, and doesn't a rectangle has 4 right angles :?

I've been thinking to put my ds under the learning bliss' care but after seeing his tiredness due to waking up early, I'm not sure if I should just let my maid to pick him up after school and have more rest time at home. Pls help! :?:
Hi, I have my child withdrew from learning bliss even though it is just next to Nanyang. The teacher there is not professional and my child is not allowed to do his tuition work at learning bliss. They are only allowed to do learning bliss aeesssmemt book bought from popular and exam paper which I only get to see it end of the year what they have done. As a result, instead of finishing up all his work at learning bliss, come back home he still needs to finish up his tuition work which is very tiring for him. If he don't do learning bliss work, the teacher will make comment \" I am not going to care about you anymore\" and critise the tuition centre work which have I asked him to do there. The learning bliss teacher even complained to his SCHOOL TEACHER that he is not doing learning bliss work! My child had been complaining and complaining to me about this, so I decided to pull him out and source out other centre even though the centre is just next to the school. Furthermore, that building is going to demolish in 2013 and there is no direction what is going to happen after that.

Hi, my adv is to leave out the items in the optional booklist and buy it only when needed. Fm my past experience, the Dictionary, Assessment books, etc... listed as options are not used by the school and a waste of $$.

Agree, even a few of the compulsory items may not be used.

i find some administration aspect of nyps lacking. This is only one example . So many last minute notifications over the years, a few are important .

              Thanks for this insider's sharing.

For the benefit of other kids, we should bring this back to the LB management. Somehow, I do agree that they share very little about their daily programme.

But one thing for sure is that they will be moving to the temporary site together with the Nanyang kids.

What do the lower primary students do after exam? Watching videos in the classroom or do they get to go for excursions? Any planned after-exam activities for the students?

Ehm, my son has been with Learning Bliss for 3 years now and it’s been so far so good. I’ve always thought it was good that they gave the kids lots of past year papers to do, plus assessment books too. I recently bought my son a Chinese assessment book and he said he’s got the same one in Learning Bliss. I do not expect the teachers there to be as good as in Nanyang, 'cos it’s afterall a student care centre, not school or tuition centre.

I heard about one boy who didn’t want to do any of the Learning Bliss work and his mother just called up to asked the teachers not to give him anymore and that was it. My son brings his own work to do all the time, no problem so far.

                      P1 & 2 basically having the same post-exam activities.

DS1 has been with LB for 3 years too. No issues so far. They have always been accomodating with regards to work to be done in class. Like brickcross said, they are a student care, not tuition centre. As long as they take care of DS1 well & he finishes his school homework in time & not running loose somewhere while I'm at work, I'm happy.
