RE: Nanyang Primary
CHC123:
Thanks for this insider's sharing.
Hi, I have my child withdrew from learning bliss even though it is just next to Nanyang. The teacher there is not professional and my child is not allowed to do his tuition work at learning bliss. They are only allowed to do learning bliss aeesssmemt book bought from popular and exam paper which I only get to see it end of the year what they have done. As a result, instead of finishing up all his work at learning bliss, come back home he still needs to finish up his tuition work which is very tiring for him. If he don't do learning bliss work, the teacher will make comment \" I am not going to care about you anymore\" and critise the tuition centre work which have I asked him to do there. The learning bliss teacher even complained to his SCHOOL TEACHER that he is not doing learning bliss work! My child had been complaining and complaining to me about this, so I decided to pull him out and source out other centre even though the centre is just next to the school. Furthermore, that building is going to demolish in 2013 and there is no direction what is going to happen after that.superduperks:
I need some advices badly. Pl help! :?
I've been thinking to put my ds under the learning bliss' care but after seeing his tiredness due to waking up early, I'm not sure if I should just let my maid to pick him up after school and have more rest time at home. Pls help! :?:
For the benefit of other kids, we should bring this back to the LB management. Somehow, I do agree that they share very little about their daily programme.
But one thing for sure is that they will be moving to the temporary site together with the Nanyang kids. -

RE: Nanyang Primary
Thanks,MommyNG!
My ds is going P1 next yr. I’m not so worry abt his school work but more concern abt safety. My maid just indirectly caused DS to have a bad accident and really don’t wish to have another one as walking bk home, it is not that safe though less than 1km. Else, my maid is rather good in terms of housework n character. -

Would laptop seriously needed?
Don't think you really need to bring anything in addition to the list. haha. Maybe should see what you can eliminate from the list instead.NotKiasuEnough:
I was wondering if parents have any advice on what to do/bring etc (in addition to the list)?
1. Emergency Medications (vitamins, panadol, flu, stomach, diarhhoea, etc)
2. Shampoo, Shower, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Cup + small pail
3. Floor wipes with the Holder & General Cleaning Wipes
4. Electric Fan (there's Ceiling Fan but still hot)
5. Extension electric plug
6. Electrical Outlet adaptors
7. Handphone or camera chargers, etc
8. Bowl/Fork/Spoon/cup in case they want to make their own supper/snack
9. Clothes for daily wear/sleep for 5 days
10. Uniforms for 5 days (there's laundry service in boarding)
11. Undergarments enough for 5 days.
12. Socks for 5 days
13. School Shoes
14. Sandals/slippers for wearing around boarding
15. Towels
16. Blanket, if don't like the furry one in boarding room
17. Pillow
18. Shallow rectangular plastic baskets to put inside cupboard so their undergarments and socks are not everywhere on the shelves inside the wardrobe(!!!).
19. Foldable Mesh Laundry holder (for them to put their dirty clothes before laundry) - usually hang this inside one of the wardrobes
20. ..... airfreshener/insecticide - spray plus those freshener-tubs to keep the room smelling fresh.
21. Laptop if needed
22. Musical instruments, if needed
23. School Bag with books/files
Anything to add?
How many pairs of shoes should be prepared? Does flip-flop / slippers allowed?
