I also thought that it is only the P5 who will not have CA2... Like that means a lot of weightage is going to be on SA2? :nailbite:You are indeed correct. DD's form teacher replied my email yesterday and confirmed that there will be no CA2. But the letter was quite misleading. It sounded like only P5 doesn't have CA2.
@Busymom, you can see term 4's calendar http://www.nyps.moe.edu.sg/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23&Itemid=30, and it's like what 8228 mentioned. Paper 1 on week 2 (but only EL paper 1 for your DD since CL paper 1 for P3 - P5 only), oral on week 3, and the rest on week 5.
But then again, we are just talking about paper tests, right? I remember under the holistic assessment, there are a few tests here and there in term 3 which are to be included in the whole year's result. :? -

i think this is the only time they bring forward the exams .... to cater for the preparation of new building work
Haiz, and the letter was so misleading like what BigD says... either we need to brush up our comprehension skills or the school needs to brush up its wxxxx skills. :skeptical: -
Hi everyone.
I recently got selected as a Parent Volunteer for NYPS (2013 P1 registration, 2014 starter). I hope you don't think it presumptuous of me to post in this thread, but I figure all other PVs will also check in here.
The PV selection and allocation process was a bit unsettling: I suppose the uncertainty is good prep for next year's P1 selection. -

welcome to the NYPS family!
so your Pri 1 kid will start school in Toh Tuck and move back to King's/Coronation for Pri 2.
not to be a dampener, but PV is still no guarantee hor !
may I ask, what PV duty are you doing ?
Thanks! Yes we live within 1km, otherwise if last year is a guide no chance in 2B. I'm doing traffic. After 80 hours of that and still not guaranteed... don't know what to say! We'll see what this year's ballots bring in 3 weeks, right?
Yes, we know it will be Toh Tuck. I assume/hope/would think there will be bus transfers laid on from Kings Road site? (Sure it is discussed already.) -
I don’t quite understand why some parents insist to drop their children (not talking about those very young ones) within the school even when Mrs Lee opens the car door for the children to alight along King’s Road. The traffic jam in the morning is sometimes bad as many cars are waiting to turn into the school. The traffic will be smoother if more parents let their children alight at King’s Road. It will be super smooth if 5 or more cars let the children alight at the same time instead of waiting to alight the children right in front of the gate. Maybe the school should get some students or parent vonlunteers to open the car doors for the first five car for a period of time until more parents see/understand the benefits of doing this.

mummy of 3:
The interview itself was no issue - a friendly panel of 6 or so, only 2 or 3 people asking direct questions. They kept it very simple and said they needed people for traffic duties at King's (and Toh Tuck) and I said yes. I say it was unsettling because we were told we had \"passed\" and were \"in\" a couple of weeks later, but we then heard nothing until this week when I forced the issue. Otherwise we would have been overlooked as far as I can tell. So don't assume anything until you've signed up to the PV-2B form - they are very busy and under pressure from MOE etc and so will not be looking out for you! Hope that helps.:congrats:
