Hi,
I would like to transfer my son to GEP in NYPS next year. Does anybody have any idea if my younger daughter who is in the same sch as my son currently is able to be transferred there as well? If not, what is the chances of getting in later?
Thanks in advance! -
but if i need to drive in then where is the waiting place for P3? I mean the official waiting point place…is it Nanyang kindergarten or still at Basketball meeting point?
Also, for CCA, when in Primary 4 they will send form for kids to choose CCA for those who have not joined? I enquired about some CCA and reply was that only take in at P4…so should we just wait till they send us form? CCA any importance…? -

There will be a CCA orientation day which will be announced - should be in January every year.

Your kid will be invited to stay back and go around all the CCA's to see & ask questions. Some may hold trials as there are limited slots. I believe the submission is online but the teachers will give you the form with the exact info (dates, method of submission, what to bring, etc). -

On average it's abt 10 from each HA classes... so abt 40+ GE kids from NY alone & abt 80 META kids.
From MTP yesterday...
Just being a busybody - how many qualified for GEP and META this year?VooVoo:
2013: 159
2014: 149
2015: 149
This year I think around 160?
Heard 4 buses were chartered. Plus those who went by themselves.
167 passed round 1
41 qualified for GEP
70 for META
Mrs Lee also shared that the reduction of GEP classes was due to lower birth rate. -
good morning…

Heard nyps has reduced GEP classes to 3 instead of 4, are they going to increase the META class from 2 to 3 for year 2017? -
No, META class remains at 2.
However, instead of 60 students in previous years,
there will be 70 META students for 2017. -
Dear experienced Nanyang parents, some help here. Any ideas which are the HA classes in P3 next year and if there is a LA class? DS asking and while i can hazard a guess, looking for confirmation.

Also would there be a chance for MA students to make it to the Meta classes via streaming next year if they do well? Thanks in advance for an enlightening thoughts.

There are only HA & MA classes, no classes labelled as LA.
GEP/ Meta students are selected purely based on the P3 GEP test results, not through the school exam streaming. Those who did not get into the GEP classes but placed high on the MOE GEP screening results may be offered the Meta option by the school.
This is separate from HA or MA (streamed through school exam results), so yes, MA students can go to Meta classes, just like they can go to GEP classes if they clear the selection and screening. -
Do all P3 students go to the screening?
