Friend's kid, P6 last year..... She told me tat to hv greater sec sch options (we r talking abt avg n not the better sec sch) need to hv at least a score of 245 & above!!

Score of 245 is very high. Easily can go to the following.

      St Nicholas Girls' School
      Cedar Girls
      Catholic High
      Victoria
      ACS
      Anderson Sec

Score > 250 will land you at

      Nanyang Girls' High School
      RGS
      RI
      Dunman High
      HCI
      RVHS
      MGS
      SCGS

Got to be realistic and don't stress the kid too much for such a high expectation. If the kid can perform then be it 😄

Think there are also other \"better\" sec sch with score below 245

Happen to come RV Thread and saw the above posting.
If I may correct some of the above Sch's COP:
1)St Nicholas Girls' Sch shd be 249. Likely to go up as going IP next yr.
2)Cedar shd be 249. Went IP this yr so COP is raised.
3)Catholic High is 247. Likely to go up,going IP next yr.
      4)Victoria is 246.
5)SCGS is 248. Likely to go up,going IP next yr.
      6)MGS is 250.

Hope you parents don't mind me sharing the above data.
      Thanks.

Sorry... maybe I should be more specific. Score of more than 245 is very high. Those schools have COP of 245 - 249.

Is River Valley is a good school? Is it very academic with lots of homework? Noticed that the % pass for Chinese is 95.5% which is below the national average of 97.3%. Are they weak in Chinese?

                hi parents…

Just received a letter from school regarding the above…
As such, wanted to know how you are preparing your child for this…
Not sure if the teachers teach the students how to actually do a
proper presentation as the assessment criteria seems quite comprehensive.
I guess the school is expecting either the parents to coach their children?

                Thoughts anyone?

For my gal who was in P1 last year, teacher would have a sample draft but i thot it would be quite boring if all the students follow that sample draft so I drafted the content for show & tell & practice with my gal. The assessment criteria then was pretty simple - be audible, eye contact & props...... of course should be in a lively tone (should not be in monotonous tone)

Now in P2, i find the show & tell more interesting.... comes in a form of \"er ge\"..... Chinese nursery songs (?)....... my gal is now more daring too, she even add in her own \"dance\" movements!! 😂
