Winth, they gave out the reply. DD received the \"envelope\" on Friday. You may check with your DS. They are going ahead with the increase. However, the increase has been staggered. The CCA and 70% of the monthly fare starts on August. Balance 30% effective January 2013.


I'm concern over the operator requesting for a increase year on year at such quantum. Now I wonder if they would keep their 2013 fares unchanged till end of that year with this increase. There is no mention about it. Maybe the school should call for a public tender for 2013 given that we still have 6 months before the end of this year.

DS1 just passed me envelope too.

The concern is valid and if this goes on, I think the school bus seats will be made out of cowhide soon. It might all be a tactical move afterall, to stagger the increase from 2012 to 2013 and to 'informally' inform all parents that 2013 increase wasn't really a fare increase. It was a 2012 fare that was effective due to the stagger. So everyone's the nice guy. :censored:

For this Thursday's enrichment class, DS1 and I had the actual rehearsal for him to walk out to take the public buses. Kinda scary when I couldn't find him at our 'meeting place'. But all went well, luckily got hp.

He got home alot (1 hour) earlier than if he were to wait for the bus operator's expensive ride plus the unnecessary walk in.

Hi! Would like to check with parents of Pri 1 children, is your child’s class still changing their time table? At the beginning of this year, I understand the time table kept changing. But now is already term 3 and my girl says her time table will be changed again (3 times in this term alone). Now I’m not sure what to pack in her bag. Her form teacher says she will e-mail me, but I’ve yet to receive. Any other parent experiencing this?

hihi. my dd in p1 this year. found that no homework for EL & Maths except for HMT. all very depend on your kids how fast they can complete the task in school....

So far not everyday got homework. weekly spelling and ting xie only. for Weekend, EL teacher will give a topic to write 5 sentences...

Actually if your child is P1 next year, you only have P1 parents to co-share with cos P1 is pm session.

Might not be very economical to do that, unless she's P2 onwards with more parents to share. Have thought of co-sharing before for my P3 boy, but there are days where he attends enrichment classes and may not be easy to arrange for interested parents to have transport on such days, so we shelved the idea.

Fyi, my new bus fare is $103, up from $78 (or $85?? sorry, not very good in figures). Extra 4pm trip (for extra lessons) is $8, up from $2. And I'm staying near central area too.

$103 for 2 way?? I am payin $170 for my DD at her school.

Hi,

Expectation for term 1 is for them to settle down in new environment. So their expectation is still ok. Expectation increase from term 2 onwards.
In conclusion, their expectation is high in academy and also character.
