Qifa Primary

buds:
... Must camp out nite before liao.
Aiyah buds! We all know there's no use camping outside.
The school principal + admin staff will be very busy from now onwards. There will be a sudden surge of PV applications! -
I'm one of the parents who failed in balloting for Nanhua and opted for Qifa. It's a great consolation to hear this good news !
Somemore, got another younger one ......hehe -

Blessing in disguise?

Insider ... what you said is true but still ... I'm EXCITED that at least it's not the usual \"top\" school that can produce top student (which should have higher probability anyway). At least it can reduce the stress level (a little but still help!) of most parents out there that \"die die\" also must go for \"top\" school and when never get it feels that it's the end of the world.
PS: I'm just another KPO parent coming to check out where exactly is QIFA  -
insider:
If next year Qifa really faces extreme interest in their P1 registration, then it really speaks volume about the immaturity of many parents. ..
I am quite sure Qifa will face high interest. This can be seen for past few years' PSLE results and following year's P1 registration. There's a neighbourhood school in my area which produced 2 PSLE top scorer and the following year saw phase2C balloting with 1km - the first time in the school's history.
My nephew is staying near Qifa and registering for P1 soon so I have been helping to watch the statistics. Pei Tong and Qifa received lowest registration in phase 2C this year, for that area. Let's see what it will be next year.
I don't know what it is with Singapore parents...immaturity, herd instinct... :whut: -
I agree with insider that its the China girls own effort irregardless of what school she came from. Cant really stop the singapore mentality ... \"Top score equates to good school.\" Children from China know what they r here for and are very focused and hardworking, has very strong determination too... Wish our Singapore children could be like that......Err.... wonder how she study, perhaps she does a lot of research herself... Congrats Qifa :celebrate:

Our kids, in general, have a long way to go when it comes to self-motivation, determination & maturity compared to these China students..like u said, these China students know what they are here for & are hence v focused.... i believe our kids are too sheltered & pampered...partly our fault as parents (altho i do consciously avoid spoiling them nor splurging on them ... i admit i'm guilty of it sometimes...) Sigh ......
PS: i hv seen cases where a relative & another fren promising their kids certain \"gadgets\" if they meet certain mark... however, when the kid fail to deliver, they still get the gadget anyway !! ... in the first place, dangling of such carrots is already not the ideal approach but yet the carrot is given to them given tho they hv failed to deliver .. But what can i say? Not my children anyway...can only let the parents decide. C'est La Vie! -
Wow Qifa Primary had become the shiny star in PSLE 2009.
Maybe next week many PV Applications would come in. Next year P1 Registration very high chance of balloting? -
insider:
exactly, insider. She's the result of china's system and her parents' excellent genes..nature/nuture debate; not our education system. So why is everybody so excited about the school? :? It's got nothing much to do with which school or what principal she has... More importantly, the teachers and parents she has...herd mentality indeed. If next year Qifa really faces extreme interest in their P1 registration, then it really speaks volume about the immaturity of many parents.
This China girl who got 290 in her PSLE (think she came to Singapore when she was about 10 years old, hardly knowing any English). Don't think her good results have really much to do with the school. This diligent and intelligent girl, basically put her anywhere she also can shine...
Herd instinct. Tsk tsk tsk...
unless of course, Qifa has a few other outstanding ones who were there since P1...then we can safely say, it's a great school, with wonderful teachers and principal, plus supportive parents.
PS: I'm not sour grapes, anti-qifa or anti-prc, pls don't stone me either. My allegiance is to the nation and the family. :salute: -
After reading this morning’s papers, I read that Qiu Biqing started here from P3. So she’s a combination of China’s/SG’s/Qifa/her parents’ nuture. Well done, girl/Qifa!
