      Hi Pinkie,

Based on P2 results, the kids will be streamed ie. P3 will have best class, 2nd best class. Seems like every year they do slight streaming ie. school will allow the top students from 2nd best class to join the best class.

        Hi Ningy

Tks fr replying. I'm just wondering is there a great difference between Best and 2nd Best? I just dont like the idea if they keep moving children around every year, I feel the children will feel insecure and sad if they lost their friendship due to this streaming.

If there is really a great difference, I feel it is also not right for the school to \"invest\" most of it's resources & attention on just this one class. It is just not fair to other students.

        😞

          Hi Pinkie

Fr P4 onwards, BICEP is offered only to the best class. BICEP is Bicultural Education Programme which is sponsored by the Hokkien huay kuan for the 5 schools. They stayed back once a week to learn more about chinese (not related to PSLE or school exams) - may include the chinese history, translation and poems, etc.

My DS was moved from best class in P3 to 2nd best class in P4. He did well in P4 (2nd in class) so he moved again to the best class in P5 and stayed on till he graduated. From what I have observed, the first 3 in 2nd best class when move over to the best class, they will rank around 10 ~ 20+ in the best class.

My DS didn't \"lose\" any friend when \"moving\" around. Instead he made more friends as he has friends from both classes. So, you need to look at the positive side of it.

so does it mean that those who are not in the best 2 classes get to stay with their classmates from P3-P6? i.e. only the best 2 classes get shifted around?

From what I know, other classes also shift around. My DS has a friend moved from best to second best then third best then to \"normal\" class from P3 to P6.

                  This looks like demoting. 😞

Any idea what's the reason? Is your DS's friend result in the declining trend over the years?

Just wonder whether Kong HWA school forms a GEP class for the students who pass the GEP screening test and fail in the selection test . I heard some school did . Or when they do screaming whether consider the GEP result?
