Mummy so kiasu : I've applied for PV but was unsuccessful. As for the clan association, don't think I've sufficient time to get e letter eligible for phase 2b. Other parents has suggested to ask for transfer to nan chiau at least after 2 yrs at kong hwa.


SharonL : I'm staying near buangkok mrt and still considering if to take public transport or school bus. Last option will be getting a car but COE is so ex now. Seems like 56 applicants have registered under phase 2A2, is it all will be guaranteed a place?

Are you registering this year or next? For 2A2, if demand is lesser than supply, i was told you will get the seat.

Not just KH, if you ask around, many parents are sending their kids to far away school.

I know of a fren who stays in Pasir Ris and her gal is in Nanyang. So you are not alone

Under 2A, all should be confirmed in. That's for ex-students and staff. Its the left over places that will be given half to 2B. That's clan and PV.

Congrats. Actually u can start calling RS transport to have a gauge what time they will pick your son from your place vv based on current timing.

If you do not get into Phase 2B, its understood as "unsuccessful". And you would have to try under 2C. Meaning you would have to apply again.
Upon submitting documents, you can check with the school on your chances, ie with 1km, 1-2km and such.

So meaning to say if u r unsuccessful in ph2B, u don't have to 'deregister' or submit another form to withdraw, right? You can just go for the next phase to apply.

I'm staying in SengKang as well. I've registered my son under Phase2A2.

Travelling time (by car) from Seng Kang to Kong Hwa is about 20mins.
By Mrt (Buangkok MRT) to Kong Hwa (Dakorta), including walking, is less than 40mins.

It seem that taking MRT is 40 mins whereas taking school bus pick up time is 5.40am. The kid does not have to get up so early if travel by car or MRT comparing to school bus.

Some good statistics u have collected. I am staying in sengkang as well but doubted letting him go on the train alone in the first year... The ironical fact is that unless u r that early or late to avoid the jam, the mrt may be faster than driving. Perhaps erp for kpe may be started real soon. The traffic is getting worse by the day. Imagine with the new condos and flats coming online.

Hi, just a word of caution, the Dokota train station is not very near to school and its not sheltered.
