Haha, this thread has been pretty quiet lately. Guess everyone is busy.
By the way, my boy has drafted 2 stories so far for submission to his teacher. My understanding is that they will draft all the stories (4 i think) and choose 1 to retell. I trust the school is preparing them for it. Our part is just to perhaps help them edit the draft a bit here and there, if we wish to and also to help them reherse at home with the actual retelling (just like we usually do for their show and tell). -
For my dd’s class, they only started today and they are pairing up for this assessment. Is this the case for other classes too? I am pretty upset because everything is so last minute. I can’t even edit it as it is a teamwork.

it’s individual work for my boy. he touched up his 1st story draft over last, last weekend and submitted to his teacher last monday. he did his 2nd story draft over last week and submitted to his teacher yesterday. different teachers adopt different approach perhaps. not to worry, i believe the teachers will help them edit their work.

oh dear… I don’t see my DS doing anything regarding this. I better check with him tonight.

lostbunny - your boy could have finished them in school already.

Hi, I am a keen parent and also a member of Buddhist Lodge(Ju Shi Lin). Do I then qualify to enter my boy through phase 2B under association links?

Hi 7788, how did your boy do for the retelling? My daughter did ok, but she told me that some of her classmates actually incorporated actions during the retelling. This is getting really competitive!Haha, this thread has been pretty quiet lately. Guess everyone is busy.

I've asked her if she would like to do the same, but she's quite reluctant.
Maybe one day we'll see kids using synchronized background music and fanciful props. Haha. -

My P3 boy had story retelling last year when he was P2. It was on 5 little firefighters. 2 of his friends came over and we did the props, fire engine, water hose, the mountain,etc... and rehearse and they got the best score. It was also for the fun of it.

Not an expert in this but my impression is that the temple must be a member of Singapore Buddhist Federation. Maybe you might want to call SBF to find out more.
