Hi, my son was in P1 with Jurong Primary for one month before he was transferred out in 2012. Anyone interested in Jurong Primary P1 textbooks and exercise books? The exercise books are not used but I have pasted my son’s name stickers on them. I will remove the stickers. I also have the uniform and PE attire to give away.

Collection in Jurong West or Jurong Point or Boon Lay MRT Station. Please pm me.

        Hi skyozone,

You can go to their webpage and go to Parents' connection. Look for Oct 12 news letter, that mentioned some info on student care.

          Hi Parents of P1 (2013),

I have the followings to give away:

          1. Chinese textbook 上下册
          2. My pals are here Maths 1A and 1B 2nd edition
          3. Health education P1
          4. 公民道德教育
          5. 1 jotter book

          7. 2 single lines

These books are new as my son only spent one month in Jurong Primary School before he was transferred out to another school, which use different textbooks altogether.

Please pm me if you are interested in these books. I have school uniform and PE attire to give away too.

            24hr_mum:
In Jurong Primary, they stream their students in Primary 2. The top 3 class E, D & A will be attending shape programme (stretching high ability pupils excel).

Streaming will be on English & Math for P1 & P2, English, Math & Science for P3 and above. According to the principal 2nd language will not take in consideration for streaming.
            Good Morning 24hr_mum,

Do you know if the practice of Jurong Primary streaming their students in Primary 2 is still active? Which are the top classes? Do they have HCL for P2?
            :thankyou:
Thanks in advance. And do keep in touch.

              Hi,

Is it a must for P3 to take CCA as there will not be any CCA School Bus to take them back, right? No one will be able bring her back after the CCA as parent will be working. How???

Hi, I am thinking to enrol my son to JPS coming Yr 2015 and have heard negative remarks of the school but it is the nearest school to my house. Any mother care to share her views and experiences with the school? Many thanks.... 🙂

My eldest son is now P6 and youngest is P1.

this school got its pros and cons.

                  let me share a bit:

                  1. My DS1 is learning violin outside, when requested to join string ensemble, his teacher urged him to join Chinese Orchestra instead. saying better for DSA when he going for Sec1. well i never worry about my DS1 studies and think well, why not, another instrument and since his classmates are there (his Chinese teacher is the teacher in charge for Chinese Orchestra), let him.

Later til i know ( After 2 years!!), all this DSA thingy is just to attract my DS1 to beef up the school’s Chinese Orchestra, which is not attracting enough people.

There is no individual grooming for the instruments. just group practises for the SYF competition. Once the competition is over, no more practises. practises resumes when the Chinese Orchestra required to perform at Chinese New Year Celebrations!!

The so called instructors employed by the school from outside proposed that my son attend their "private" tutoring to improve his chances in DSA!! p.s. the instructors are on part time contract… expired after the SYF Competition.

Recently i wanted to enrol my DS1 into DSA (Chinese Orchestra), realised… the minimum requirements are not so simple. maybe its my oversight, but i realise that i can’t rely on the words of the teacher.

in fact, before i let my DS1 join in the chinese orchestra, i did spoke to the teacher. she totally convinced me that its a viable and probable option.

                  other comments next time.

                  1. Lousy bus services, Arrangements.
                  2. Poor Curriculum arrangements. (5.5hrs for science at P6?? only)
                  3. No Parent Teachers Meetings every term (Teachers too busy, no need)
                  4. Teachers always on courses. (Relief teachers too often)

Hmm.. this morning have called the school admin to check if they have received my application for my girl P1 registration next year. Also kaypo ask about the student care. The admin says the building is ready already but just that they have not open for registration 🙂
