That’s great news champion! I think 267 is pretty decent, happy for the student.
Lakesidemom, I don’t have any stats, but I have a church friend’s dd from CPS who went on to RV. According to her, the best class normally would score in a pretty good range, so most should be above 250.
This p6 cohort is still pretty small though cos this batch was when the school shifted from Boon Lay to St 24 I think. With the batches coming up, perhaps with a wider base, there would be more students who do even better.
champion, do u know how many 2011 p4 classes would there be? for your dd, from p2 to p3, any reshuffling of classes? how many in her p3 class next yr?
From your dd’s batch onwards or earlier, always 10 classes each yr rt? -
hi..im back....ive went to the orientation for the P1 at CPS. She will be in class 1.3. Hope she's will be happy there. The PAL programme seems interesting. But i was wondering how do they access the sudent ability or when do i know that the class is good class. :?
-
rush 1.5, I think there is no streaming for p1 and 2. they start P1 in mixed-ability classes, then the whole class will move up together in p2.
i think only in P3 they start to have a best class. by then, there is testing.
Ya, the PAL is very interesting for my son and can do tog with his classmates. They had different forms of art for Term 1 and 4. Term 2 and 3 they had Outdoor education. I think next year, it is swimming, dance?? Champion has to confirm this.

btw rush1.5, i think there are a couple of kids in 1.3 already, from what i read in this forum thread.
your kids will all be classmates, so fun! -
Hello again.
They sent home a list of what books needed to be packed during the first week of class. Do most of those books get left in a locker at school? Is that why they are to bring different books every day?
@tjm - I checked out the Deuter backpacks. They are definitely good quality bags, so I think I’ll take your advice and just let him pick out the color. With all of these books, you’re right. Function definitely needs to outweigh form. -

Hello there,
I don’t think there are lockers in the school to keep the books; perhaps they give the list so that the children need not bring all the books everyday.
Btw, may I check do you get to know your child FT during the orientation day? -

4 of them scoring 250 and aboveChampion:
Hello All!
Just read from the PSLE result forum that Corporation Primary School the highest PSLE score is 267! Congratulation to CPS! :celebrate: The national standard highest is 282 from Rosyth Primary School.
Just a bit side track - A friend's child is with West Grove and the highest score is 268 so CPS \"lost\" to West grove by a mere 1 mark only
Great to know that CPS has score so well, congrats!!
With a top score of 267, what about the rest of the cohort? How many score above 250?
My boy will be registering for P1 next year, am currently monitoring the progress of the JW/JE schools, CPS is one of my shortlisted school. Interested partly they have the PAL programme.
To be honest, of course, we hope to be balloted into Rulang, but chances are slim, hence need to look around of back-up schools.
Appreciate any comments parents from CPS. Thanks. -

MOst of the books are kept at home actually. I received a similar list last yr.
Apparently they said the 1st week involved a lot of talks, tours etc, so the kids do not follow their normal timetable. Hence the list ells us what the kids are to bring. I asked my son everyday last week. realised it is just a rough guide?
or at least, his tr didnt use all that he was asked to bring.
They were told to write their names and some were kept by the tr in the cabinet in the classroom.
So far no lockers that i know of...
yay to your son for his new bag! -

Oh wow... so the kids are always told at school what they need to bring for the next day? Or will they eventually have a regular schedule for what books they need to bring on which days?

Then what were those cabinets outside of the classrooms for? I thought they looked like lockers. That's surprising that they don't use lockers, especially considering how many books the kids have.So far no lockers that i know of...

Hehe yes my dd wanted a new bag too, but she already has plenty of bags already. I did get her a new water bottle though.yay to your son for his new bag! will your dd want one too?
my ds2 was asking, he can't wait to go to cps cos he thinks going there means getting lots of new stuff - bag, stationery, water bottle, uniforms, shoes etc...
