      Hi mummies and daddies

If you encounter problems on buying the handbooks, please inform your dd/DS form teacher and may pass $2.70 to your child, form teacher will get the handbooks from bookshop on your behalf.

      Hi! queen1108,
:thankyou: for the information; appreciates much! :grphug:

I have not bought the student portfolio for my DD2 - anyone can advise? I heard the queue is still very long as of yesterday!

Hi Champion, nice to see you here again. 🙂

about the noise, yah...impossible to remove the air base, but i think MOE should look into the noise which might potentially cause hearing damage. If can't eliminate then at least have engineering control (like air-con during the lessons). It's really hard to solve this problem, air-con may create more problems. :stompfeet:

I just did some search on noise exposure on MOM regulation for any workplace. I think at least they need to do a test on the noise level the kids/teachers expose to daily.

Sound pressure level, dB(A)\t Maximum duration per day
        120 dB(A) 9 seconds
        121 dB(A)\t 7 seconds
        122 dB(A)\t\t 6 seconds
        123 dB(A)\t\t 5 seconds
        124 dB(A)\t\t 4 seconds
        125 dB(A)\t\t 3 seconds
        126 to 127 dB(A)\t\t 2 seconds
        128 to 129 dB(A)\t\t 1 second
        130 to 140 dB(A)\t\t <1 second

Below is the example of noise level
        dBA\tExample\t \t
        85 dB(A)\t\tpassing diesel truck\t \t
        90 dB(A)\t\tsqueeze toy\t
        95 dB(A)\t\tinside subway car\t
        100 dB(A)\t\tmotorcycle (riding)\t \t
        105 dB(A)\t\tsporting event\t \t
        110 dB(A)\t\trock band\t \t
        115 dB(A)\t\temergency vehicle siren\t \t
        120 dB(A)\t\tthunderclap\t \t
        125 dB(A)\t\tballoon popping\t \t
        130 dB(A)\t\tpeak stadium crowd noise\t \t
        135 dB(A)\t\tair raid siren\t \t
        140 dB(A)\t\tjet engine at takeoff\t \t
        145 dB(A)\t\tfirecracker\t \t
        150 dB(A)\t\tfighter jet launch\t \t
        155 dB(A)\t\tcap gun\t \t
        160 dB(A)\t\tshotgun\t \t
        165 dB(A)\t\t.357 magnum revolver\t \t

hi Champion, i bought the portfolio and handbook yesterday, there is one separate table selling these two to save parents’ time. I remember heard someone said teacher also can help to order. Not very sure.

Thanks for the advise on the books, will check with popular this weekend. Better settle all before the lessons start next week.

May i know we must buy all those arts supply listed on the booklist? I haven’t made the purchase.

Hi sno_opy thanks for the info; appreciates much.

I am thinking to make a trip down later during my lunch hour to get the portfolio 🤷

I did not get all the art material supply in the list; will buy from Popular when DD2 has Art lessons.

We stay at the nearest blocks to CPS. 🙂 But seldom at home during day time, also not much on weekends or at night. My girl's childcare is not around JW area.

The first two days in CPS, felt like so many very close/low passes which made very very loud and sharp noise (at least 8 to 10 times a day, i guess). It's annoying. :slapshead:

Hope something will be done to improve this situation.
