Hi silverhorse... thanks for the heads-up... my DD is a fussy eater
Hi Sky71,Sky71:
Hi parents... my girl will be in P1 next year... just wondering how much pocket money should I give her?
I am thinking $1.50... is it enough or too much?
TIA.
I think its up to individual, and have to depends on whether your DD is small eater or big eater.
I gave DS $1.20 in P1, and now he's in P3 this year, I gave him $1.80 to $2 per day. To him, its more than enough.
In this case I think $1.50 should be OK for her :xedfingers:
Thanks again! -
I think $1.50 for p1 is enough as there is only 1 recess.
When you are in the school, do take a look at the prices of food in the canteen to have a feel how much to give.
Also, it is the time to cultivate the good habit of saving for rainy days.
My p6 dd has only $1.80 per day. She eats bread during recess, takes her lunch in school and still have some leftover provided not buying drinks & other tit-bits etc. -

FYI, In Pri 1, DS spent his money on bookshop purchase ( all the nonsense stuffs la), in P2, he wised up. In P3, he managed better cos there are 2 breaks ( recess n lunch)... -

Unfortunately the tuckshop was closed during DD's orientation so unable to check out the prices of the food there.
Probably will drop by to check it out these 2 days before the school closed.
Thanks a lot.

Maybe you can go to the school, perhaps tell the security guard that you want to go to the bookstore or something... then scan at the prices of food at the canteen.Hi starlight1968sg... Thanks for the advice.

Are you preparing bread for your dd who will be p1? If so, you can even reduce the pocket money because she is most likely ended up buying drinks, pencils, erasers, stickers etc. Just let her be for a short while as this is part of the growing up process.
(During the recess, the kids will crowd at the bookshop to look-see, buy things...)
If this gets out of control ie continue to spend $$ on stickers, then you may have to exercise some control... -
Hello Mummies,
Yesterday my boy finally got his report book for P1. But I realised that there’s no position in the report book. According to him, his teacher told them verbally what’s their position in class. I kinda disbelieve him when he told me his position and kept asking whether he’s sure or not, or he had listened wrongly… -
Hmm… My P2 boy’s report bk still shows the class position.
-
Hello Lock,
Then when he was P1, do you still remember any position in the class? I find it strange why they do not want to put down the position and would rather tell them verbally…
