Yes, even in P1 report bk, his class position is printed. In fact, class position is reflected in every report slip, even in SA1.Hello Lock,
Then when he was P1, do you still remember any position in the class? I find it strange why they do not want to put down the position and would rather tell them verbally.. -
Hello Lock,
Really?? I scan through his report book for the position for SA1 and SA2 also never see leh…did they change the system recently?? Gosh… -
Dear all parents,
Enjoy the Nov/ Dec holidays with your children! I’ll be letting DS rest , go for non-academic course and play…
As for me, I need not wake up at 5.20am Mons-Fris for 6 weeks. ( yay! ) -

I'll need to drop by the school to submit the GIRO form... will take the opportunity to check out the canteen :xedfingers:Sky71:
Maybe you can go to the school, perhaps tell the security guard that you want to go to the bookstore or something... then scan at the prices of food at the canteen.
Are you preparing bread for your dd who will be p1? If so, you can even reduce the pocket money because she is most likely ended up buying drinks, pencils, erasers, stickers etc. Just let her be for a short while as this is part of the growing up process.
(During the recess, the kids will crowd at the bookshop to look-see, buy things...)
If this gets out of control ie continue to spend $$ on stickers, then you may have to exercise some control...
Will probably prepare bread or sandwiches for her on alternate days... cos she's a fussy eater
As for the inevitable \"growing up\" process... hehe... will observe and act accordingly.
Thanks a lot for the valuable input! :rahrah: -

Hi,
My wife’s primary school is Rulang Primary School. We plan to send our kids there starting 2014. Does she need to be a Alumuni member (paid membership) in order to stand a guaranteed chance ? Or current status is good enough ?
Please advise. TIA. -

I reckon this is a tough question to answer...Hi,

My DD successfully enrolled in Rulang (P1 2012) based on her mum as an ex-student and nothing else... but having said that, it very much depend on the number of ex-student parent vs vacancies at the point of time (2014), or any possible policy changes by MOE.
My 2 cents... -

I agree with you that kids from the creme classes seem to be given more opportunities. My nephew is currently in RPS. He was in a creme class in P3 and P4 and was chosen to participate in the National Junior Robotics Competition when he was in P3 and P4. However, he dropped out of the creme class in P5 and was never given a chance to take part in the competition.Whether accelerated learning in the top 3 classes, I am unsure of. However, I admit that the kids in these classes seem to be given more chances to gain different exposures and I dislike it. But look, isnt elsewhere the same too and who am I to be unhappy with?
The E2K prog seems to give priority to kids in these 3 classes.
More kids taking higher MT in these 3 classes.
etc.
Recently, I spoke to a parent whose daughter and son are in P4 and P1 respectively. She shared with me that she would take her boy out of RPS and put him in Fairfield Pri when the daughter goes to Sec sch because her boy is not very bright and she felt that Rulang is a school which caters to the brighter kids. She also felt that the school is trying to do too many things which may not necessarily help the kids in their studies. All those activities and programmes tire the kids out.
I share her sentiments. -
Woo-hoo, top PSLE student this year is from Rulang…
