How much exposure the preschool and the home environment had provided before P1 is also something else to look at. Some parents anticipate that gg into a good school would require that their children should be in top form so they enrol their K2s and some since K1s into many many enrichment pgrms hence indirectly also pushing the level up bah..

This is why the formative assessments for P1s works well cause children are assessed as all rounders instead of just only the academic round.

She was just P1 then... so... :please: ... i didn't wanna appear too anal about them in case it might put her off doing anymore in future. Surprisingly, DD2 said, \"It's ok mommy, i'm not frustrated that i got some of the ones i know wrong... cos this only means i can and i WILL learn from my mistakes.

Mine is at 3H. Cried after SA1 Maths paper as he think he did not answer correctly for 3 problem sum. Maths is his strongest subject.
In the end, scored 85 for the paper. The highest mark I heard is 99......
So I have to admit, it is not that school set too high standard paper, my son's std is just not there yet....

85 for P3 standard still upset. Sounds to me like your DS has very high expectation of himself!!

Don't say like that la! I'm sure it was a really tough paper. If only 1 person gets 99%, doesn't mean the paper was not tooo tough. Gotta know what is the average marks for the whole level..

Long time no chat! Yes, yes exactly what I thought. I went through some assessment books in Popular but I didn't know what to pick. I suppose moving forward, I'll be using the pass year papers plus the Fan-Maths from Fan Li Fang. They do have some explanation and some challenging questions in there..

For this June holidays, I'll just work on strenghtening her foundation... also can't wait to see the exam papers for this round.

It is a workbook I picked up at one of the Popular Roadshows. Very thin book and not expensive either. I'll have to go scan it coz couldn't find the pix online.. maybe i got the name wrong..ah.. i think it should be Li Fanglan :oops: There are also some other Fan-Maths series in Popular.

if selected during interview, what type of qs will they be asking?

Some schools oredi closed for registration since Jan, some may be Jun. You can apply 1st before is too late. Just nice, tomorrow Saturday. As for qs, tat is only after P1 registration over, so still got time to ask around.
