I also subscribed for young scientists ( already renewed this year). Last year, I subscribed to primary maths as well but still waiting for renewal notice. I think for Chinese, the kids will be encouraged to buy \"hao peng you\". That's all from the school.


Additionally, I subscribed to science spy mag. My DD likes to read this.

yes, the junior version..subscribed via school too. but my dd said this yr she dont want, only want to renew Young scientist.

My DD brought back a copy of the National Geogaphic Junior. She told me it was free but did not mention to me about subscription. Why does your DD want to discontinue this mag?

she said can exchange with her classmates or borrow from school library or public library. She prefer to renew 2 levels of Young scientist instead.

Yesterday finally received the CCA list and go thru with my DD, more or less I let her decide her CCA as she will be the one attending and hopefully she will enjoy the process.

Do u have any ideas how will CCA affect the selection of secondary school? got add marks for certain CCA?

So far i seen my DS1 writing what his form teacher needs in the communication book, but he is telling me that MT teacher need excerise book B and C and this is not written in communication book…

I do not think CCA will add marks to PSLE but some sports or talents like music and dance can be use for DSA entry into sec school. You can check MOE website. However, the kid has to excel in the area. I am more with your idea of letting the kid join what they have interest in.

I guess you mean the diary right? Sometimes, some instruction may not be written by the teacher so depends on the kid but just occasionally.
