My DD told me that there will be 40 kids in a class from P3 onwards, is this correct? There have been only 30 in a class from P1 to P2. Logically, the same numbers of classes should continue right?

I recall that reading from one of the handouts that the top 40 students will form 1 class, etc. But isn't the class size too much to handle?

yes, will be 36 - 40 students in the class as there will be only 9 classes instead of 10 as the C4 class will be removed.

In 2011,the intake was still 300. However in 2012, the intake was cut down to 270. Therefore, this year only has 9 classes for P1. P2 still has 10 classes.

Yeah, I recalled reading the same note but I cannot remember if the note mentioned 30 or 40. I threw away the notes from the old purple file just 2 weeks ago

During my time, I remembered having 44 kids in the same class. At the age of 9, I think the kids are old enough to behave and pay attention in class so should be manageable bah. Whether the teacher can pay equal attention to each kid with this size, I honestly do have some doubts.

                        Hi sdgal,

Thanks for the update. Well, I will still consider the overall passes as not significant difference from last year but the % going to express stream is a bit worrying with higher % drop. On a brighter note, the DSA has been above 10 for last 2 years.
