I saw parents bought goody bags, birthday cakes & even KFC before…
mother777 is correct, just inform the form teacher in advance.
Happy Birthday to your DD in advance… -
Thanks all!
Can the parents be there? Or just pass the stuff to the form teacher? -
Sorry not very sure cos only saw parents waiting at the security area with bags of foods and goody bags. Personally i dont think parents are allowed in the class. U might wana check with the school or email the teacher to confirm.
Good luck!! -

"STUPID QUESTION!"
That was what a MT teacher shout at my child for the 3rd time this year.
I always tell my son "Be brave to ask question, because that’s how we learn." Now, he’s coming home asking me whether he is a stupid boy. My son is slow in CL, he needs time to do mental translation for CL instructions, I always encourage him to ask whenever he does not understand, maybe that’s annoyed his MT teacher. I worked as a secondary school teacher before, i understand the teachers burden, i don’t like to be a "problematic" parent, but i don’t think asking about "homework which page to which page, need to leave a line empty between sentences, etc" were stupid questions.
My stupid questions are:
1. Please advice how should i handle such matter? (she never give email nor contact number)
2. What is a contract teacher? Are they trained (qualified teacher)? -

It is alright to ask questions. The teacher should have been more patient with your son.\"STUPID QUESTION!\"

As for your questions, here are my views/reply
1. Call up the school to leave your name and number to get the teacher to call you back. I always believe that teachers and parents should work together for the sake of the pupil. So with that spirit, have a discussion with the teacher on the situation, not about finding fault but about how it should not happen again. If say the teacher does not return your call, maybe you can discuss with the form teacher instead.
2. A contract teacher is an untrained teacher. He/she is normally attached to the school for up to a year while waiting to enter NIE (that's where teachers are trained). -
TQ JR, but I think I’ll just chit chat with her during PTM, 24/5.
No matter how stupid a question is, a trained teacher / professional educator will not / should not label the question "stupid" in front of a student, that’s why we have FAQ but not SQ…
In this case, well… Ask less to be safe?!

There’ll be PTM on 24th May? So no class on that day?
-
Yes, giggler1. And 25/5 no class for P1P2 coz sport carnival for P3-P6. Sorry to be KPC, tomorrow 2I Math must bring 1 apple 1 orange, teacher will check blue notebook and SDL booklet on Friday…
