Hong Wen

understand that end of p2 the kids will be streamed (or moved) to different classes. Was surprised that it is a openly discussed topic in the classrooms and kids wondering which class they will be going next year and whether they will be with their besties next year etc... boy can come home tell me classmates say best class is 3C
actually no real surprise given the competitive environment now, kids will feel pressure from parents and peers. -
Happy that boy is in same class with some of his favorite friends.
Have a good year end holidays -
thanks for the tip. Will ask my hubby to check it out. Just heart pain if kid needs to wake up early ..6am.. any earlier like too early.
and hong wen does not entertain open house. cannot go in and see. only heard there is a swimming pool inside.smurfy:
think it was mentioned before that the good classes rotate each yr.. I have the same worries prior.. but yeah I think it was a good decision at that time to put him in Hong Wen despite the distance from the school..ILoveBubbleTea:
hahah i think C is best class during my time too.. 6C-> only class with EM1 and EM2
but best class or not. so long school is good, each class is good. Hopefully i have not made the bad choice of making my kid go so far.
Great to hear another parent in SK as well
Does your kid go afterschool care? good to know KPE is smooth as CTE seems to have alot of cars!!
yes my child goes to the afterschool care. I bring him back after work.
for KPE, we took a further exit.. at kallang that side and detour back.. by doing it this way, traffic is smoother and dun have to worry abt occasional jams in CTE exit towards HWS -
Eh no, there is no pool. Hearsay school wanted to build but it was vetoed by authorities… at least there isnt one now and i havent heard if its coming.
-
oh i thought they took over building in towner , got pool ... hahaha aiyo... funny ppl told me has a pool. i saw that singapore power is building some stuff next to hong wen. will there be new entrance/exit to the school?

Hi All,
I would like to say hi to all the parents here. My son will be in P1 next year. Any pointers? I am worry about the recess time. -
Hi all,
Would like to say hello to all parents.
My daughter will be in P1 in a few days time (2016).
Hope parents whose children are currently in HWS can provide guidance.

Welcome to all the new parents! It’s getting pretty quiet in this forum, so is nice to have chats to liven it up. Hope your children have a wonderful next 6 years in HWS!

dear existing parents - my daughter will be in P4 (2016) and she is in Rope Skipping. Would like to ask whether there is any DSA route for rope skipping? I can’t seem to find one. Maybe this question has been asked before. Appreciate some help:) Thanks!

Sorry that my information is probably less than half baked. Have you looked at MOE website?http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec/participating-schools/
Also, my guess is that you have some schools in mind. Why not call and ask if this is an area they allow dsa applicants to apply for? Bear in mind that anyone going into a school via cca dsa will have to continue in that cca and not allowed to drop the cca even if they can't cope academically.
