I am not sure if I’m the only parent who feels that the school dismissal time of 1.45pm is late and affects the kids’ lunchtime. Does anyone knows if the children are allowed to take dry snacks such as biscuits or bread in class, at about 12+pm? I heard from a friend that her DD’s school allows that as their dismissal time is about the same as NAPS.

H, Is P1 NeuroMath classes by invitation only or anyone can attend?

As per what I know based on my kid these few years in naps, it's by invitation only. -

Yes, I agree. The orientation booklet wasn’t clear, and the acronyms baffled some parents.[/quote]
Totally agree with the confusing acronyms. I remembered when my kid was in P1, my friend n I had a hard time trying to figure out those acronyms.
N there was a year there was a new acronym suddenly in d time table , "ER".
"ER" ? "Early Recess"?? haha…
Turned out to be "E… Reading" . Sorry, forgot what does d "E" stood for already. -

U r not d only one that feels that 1.45pm dismissal is late.
U can discuss with d teacher to allow your child to eat some light snack during class if your child is hungry.
As I don't stay near school plus I can't drive, by the time we reach home, it's already 3.30pm latest. So by d time he finished his lunch (he was a a slow eater back then), it would b like 3 hours before dinner and he simply had no appetite for dinner!
What I do is, I make sure my child has a good breakfast , and remind him must must must eat during recess, at least a bowl of noodles or rice or sandwich to sustain him until 1.45pm.
Since I fetch him from school, I pack his lunch along, home-cooked food . In this way, he can have his lunch immediately after school. He will either bring his lunch into d canteen to eat with his friends (parents are not allowed in d canteen even after dismissal) or sometimes I will bring him to one of d void decks to eat. U will c quite a few parents doing this, bringing food for them to eat after school. Otherwise, can also choose to eat at the hawker centre or coffee shop opposite the school.
As for some of my friends whose children take d school bus, they pack some light snack for them to munch while waiting for d school bus.
Hope these infor help .:) -

Since it is by invitation, I presume the Maths teacher will identify the potential kids & make the recommendation?Ran1977:

BTW, since parents weren't allowed into school as of today, I asked my DS how he manage his recess time... He told me he bought food on his own and there were no P4 buddy to help them...
I double check the orientation booklet and it states there there will be a P4 student attached to help ur kid only next Mon (07 Jan) onwards...
I presume its because they brought forward the recess period of P1 to 9:45am just for this three days...
Its a funny arrangement to me becoz if the school is already leaving the P1 kids to buy food themselves on Day 2 & 3, then what's the point of assigning P4 kids to help next week? :scratchhead: :scratchhead: -
Hi anyone knows if the P2 swimming program is compulsory? Can opt out if the kid can swim already?

The NeuroMath was not by invitation. It's more like an in-school math enrichment lessons (done by external vendor) and parents can sign the kids up and pay to attend. They go by modules - think they hv 3 or 4 modules a year.
HTH.
