Hi,
My son is born in 2007 and will register for P1 next year. We are returning Singaporeans from overseas, will be back home this year end.
He has been attending international schools, mostly playing and interacting and not even a single sheet of homework! He's a very expressive and active boy. My choice for an ideal primary school is one which has less homework, less stress from teachers & peers, multi-cultural environments, students with different nationalities and with a wide variety of CCAs. Can anyone advise me is TKPS a wise choice based on my criteria? Thanks lots!
Ur description of sch is many parents' ideal.
But sad to say, in singapore, imppossible to escape frm sch related stress. Itz just a matter of time. Maybe P1&2 can relax. But come P3,all sorts of streaming. Then psle, o levels, A levels...non stop. -

Can current parents advise when children get to select higher Chinese?
Students are already grouped into different Chinese classes even by P3.
At the end of P4, the school will be going through another round of filtering as they prepare the students for P5/P6 Higher Chinese.
If I recall, students are expected to do well in the other subjects before they can take up HMT (MOE guidelines?) -
Any parents here staying 1- 2km away? Anyone call the school to check the status?
-
J2Mum, I called up the school this morning. Only 85 Singaporeans applied so far, so if you stay within 1-2km, you’re a guaranteed shoo-in.

Thanks so much for sharing your personal experiences! I enrolled my kid at TKPS today!Hi, parents who are considering to put your kids in Tkps...let me share some insights of the school too.hope it helps..
My child is currently in P1 too.. he is enjoying a lot in school.. kids who excel well will usually have leadership roles during class. Eg, English group leader or Maths group leader.. they have monthly or termly (can't remember) Star pupil also..
School's motto on leadership and character building are being practice in school which is good...every tue during assembly time.. pupils get the chance to perform after teacher's approval..so I find that it is a good exposure for the pupils.. they had okto group to perform not long ago too...and various performance from outside..
School also has Speech & Drama as well as computer lesson as of P1..
Every school will have some misbehaving pupils so Tkps is the same.. but so far lower pri is still manageable for the teachers, as far as I can see.
The kids in this school has no peer pressure from each other.. and they are happier comparing to certain school..
Overall I'm quite happy about this school..
It will be quite disappointing for a parent if the child need to be drag to school everyday:-( so all parents choosing school, please choose wisely ..choose accordingly to our child's character then what school YOU want your child to be in..distance is really important too.. no point sending a child to a far away famous school and everyday got to wake up so early (for morning session school).. the poor child is going to be so tired.. after that comes P3 where cca comes in thats another transportation headache..
I had a hard time deciding what school to choose last yr so I can understand all parents feeling now..
Hope I had help any parents in any way
Good luck -
Surprised to see that TKPS is over subscribed this yr and NAPS still have vacancies…
Last yr i m the last person to register my son @ TKPS during the 3rd day and there are still more than 10 vacancies…
I think the sschool is gaining reputation & popularity due to its multi-nation/culture and sports achievement… -
Hi,
Does anyone has the latest statistics/breakdown for tkps as the registration for phase2c has already ended, thanks. -
I have registered too. Last heard all SC that is 1-2km away no balloting. I saw a few PR parents waiting in room hoping no more SC registering so they no need to ballot.
-
Just an update, I’ve called the school after the phase 2c registration closed and was informed that there will be no balloting for SC child.
