passwordHi parents, just received a letter from my boy's teacher that he has not done the STAR reading.
We just log in successfully but it requested for a monitor password. May I know what is that? We tried his ID but it didn't work. Thanks! -

There was a survey form previously handed out by NCPS on the feasibility of a student care centre within its premises. Personally I have 'rejected' it as I don't find there is a need for my kids to change from their existing centre to the school's. Am absolutely fine with the existing student care arrangement. My kids are all these while on childcare and student care arrangements. We have no grandparents or domestic helper on this. Hope the info helps.hi, heard that there will be a student care in NC... but not all kids would be able to get in right... for those who cant get in student care in NC or the nearby student care... may i know what are your arrangement? grandparents take care? pls share with me as i am planning what shld i do when my daughter reaches pri 1. thanks

You can go to Nan Chiau website to find out more. ICT stands for infocom tech. The students use smartphone & lab top for learning. Yes, it also has robotics club. -

More primary schools in Singapore may see students using smartphones to aid learning in classrooms
SINGAPORE: More primary schools in Singapore may see students using smartphones to aid learning in classrooms.
This, after a year-long technology trial in Nan Chiau Primary School was found to be successful.
Primary Three students in the school were put through an English and Science curriculum using a specially-developed smartphone programme.
After going through the programme, curriculum developers of the system said students’ oral English skills and ability to ask and respond to questions improved.
Within a year, the developers said students’ abilities to question jumped by 18 per cent while another 27 per cent leap was seen in aptitudes to understand and answer scientific questions.
But smartphones can also be misused.
Nan Chiau Primary School’s principal, Tan Chun Ming said: "Some of the cases we have encountered in school include students visiting the wrong website as well as you know, using it beyond what is required, you know, to access YouTube clips and things like that. And what the school is doing to mitigate all these ill-effects is we have a multi-pronged approach."
That includes cyber education lessons from lower-primary onwards, as well as getting pupils to watch over each other.
The curriculum is being expanded to include Primary Four students in the school.
Developers of the programme plan to work with more schools to roll out the smartphone curriculum.
