Any parent who is willing to fetch my DS from sch at 6.30pm (he's in P1), provide dinner and I will pick him by 7.30pm? An auntie offered to help but she's charging $300/mth which I thought is very expensive (or I am indeed suaku as that's the mkt rate?)
I have a friend who mentioned to me a aunty who may be interested. PM me your block and I will check with her and let you know. -
Hi all,
Anyone with child in class 1J this year? My gal was asked to bring some books to school but not all her books are kept by teacher. Was wondering why so different from other class. She is very small sized so I worry that her bag is getting too heavy. -

They are used in the school. To be kept by the teacher. Not to be use at home. :D[/quote]Thanks! Yesterday there's Maths lesson so I thought just let my son bring his Maths Topical Practice in case required, guess what, it was taken by teacher too. Now the bag really quite empty and light...wonder why they took so many books away, including Grammar Handbook and CME book.
Ok, then I dun touch it for now in case teacher uses it. I talked to some parents, they also say teacher will use but so far no news, also never ask to be kept by teacher. Most books taken away already...now bag quite empty, dunno if I have bought too big a bag (Firefly from Popular with quite a wide base).timtim:

For my kid last year (p1), they used it as part of the school work...not sure if there is any change to this year.
Actually I hope they can at least return their workbooks on Fri so that I can get a sense of what have been covered, done and my son's progress. -
Hi timtim,
Thanks! I hv pm you
Btw, any parent can advise how many exercise books we need to bring to sch? I packed a total of 6 (2 chinese exercise books, 2 english exercise books, 2 jotter books) for past 2 days but none has been used/collected. -

For exercise books, I'll let teacher to inform us then bring, else wasted effort for kid. So far only chinese teacher asked for a big square box exercise book to be submitted (think for spelling purpose). -
Most teachers keep the activity books so that they r available when work is needed to b done. Last year, some of them were brought home 4 signature only 1-2x per term, as work was usually done in sch.
So far, DS1 has only a simple page of Englsh homework. So still in hol mood. -
Ok, I know chances of anyone from this forum finding it is slim but thought i’ll still gave it a try.
DD’s Hello Kitty purse was removed from her school bag yesterday. It is pink, flat and in a heart shaped. I said it was "removed" because the purse has a hook & clasp attached to her school bag. When DD came home last evening, then she realised it was missing. Hook, clasp, string and all were gone, so it was unlikely DD accidentally drop it. It was brand new purse for her Primary1 and she was too shock with what has happened. If any parents see it, please let me know.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. -

I think you have to inform her form teacher about this. As last year my girl class students including her also always lost things , especially during after recess time.Ok, I know chances of anyone from this forum finding it is slim but thought i'll still gave it a try.

Thus her form teacher asked 3 of them including my girl to keep a look out before the recess is over, they found out one of their classmate sneak inside the classroom and searching another student bag. They immediately informed their form teacher and the girl was asked to see her. From then, nothing was lost again. -
Sc88,
Thank you for the advice. I have wrote a message for her form teacher in her comm book, hopefully DD remembers to show it to her.
However u are right on about what has happened! DD was very sure the purse was there when she left from student care for school and was there before recess… But from there, she can’t remember anymore.
Hb didnt want to report as stolen as he felt it is DD’s responsibility to take care of her belongings. But with what you mentioned, it almost impossible to ensure her things are safe unless she carries all her things with her when she goes for recess. -

Best not to leave any valuable in the class during recess to attract attention. The access is controlled by P2 prefects so security is v weak. Altho pupils r not supposed to go back to their classes during recess, DS1's classmate managed to retrieve his forgotten library book by asking his older brother from a.m. session to help instead. :shock:Sc88,

Last year there was also a case in another P1 class other than SC88's (different details) & some older boys from a.m. session were suspected but heard the cctv footage wasn't clear enough to pin them down.
Also hv to b careful during assembly & dismissal, as there r kids w \"itchy hands\" that will sabotage the bags, tags etc.
